We've come a long way from the days when GGG could sell a Ruler pack or two effortlessly, when it really was all about supporting the Kiwi upstart in the face of the big dog on the block aka That Other Game. Nowadays PoE *is* the big dog on the block and we're on the look-out for other upstarts to support as we did PoE, perhaps in the hopes that this time they won't go off the rails in quite the same way as PoE did -- nothing fatal, obviously, but we're definitely not where we thought we'd be in 2012/13 in terms of PoE's trajectory.
And I use 'we' here in the specific sense of you and me, but anyone else who supported PoE heftily back in the day but is leery of the current situation is free to include themselves. :)
I think Jerle simply misread you (as did I, the first time).
Jerle (and previously, I) thought you were saying that the "someone" who was paying almost almost 100 usd was the one not struggling for cash, when in reality you were saying the game wasn't struggling for cash (right?), and was retorting by indicating that rather than not struggling for cash, the hypothetical person could simply be incredibly irresponsible and actually drowning in debt.

There are different tiers for how much you are willing to support this game. Although some armor sets in the MTX cost $100, there are also a few that are less (and others that are even more!).
