CI and Eye of Chayula

Hey I a question about Eye on Chayula while using Chaos Inoculation. Does the 20% -reduced life not kill you? I heard of CI builds using this amulet so I assume it doesn't. Just wanted to get a confirmation so I don't kill my HC witch by equipping it.

It won't kill you. If you have 1HP it would drop you to .8HP, but HP is only whole number values. You will not die.

When does it kill you?
At 0.5? I want to use some Items with - life % and CI. Cheers |

" Well... Blood Magic with a Tempest Shield kills you. FYI. I'd say the reasoning behind both cases is most likely... Something like Chayula must take away from your health BEFORE the CI lowers you to 1. (Your health is still recorded somewhere, and is used to calculate things like stuns and status effects on you.) But with Tempest Shield, it's performed on the field of combat and is taking away from your CURRENT max health, which would be 1. And this game rounds DOWN, not to the nearest. That's my assumption. Hmm, I find it strange that it does work with CI, as ZHP values are supposed to round down to the nearest 1.
Maybe because it is affecting the maximum HP instead of HP being used, like blood magic does. "Minions of your minions are your minion's minions, not your minions." - Mark

I think Eye of Chayula works because even though you can only use 1 HP with CI, you actually have your base life from your levels plus any life you have on your gear, you just can't use it. So you won't die if you use the Eye.

It has to work (and it does)
Any CI Build thats not about dual totem/summon/stay behind would be kind of unplayable if it doesnt work. |
