Slow loading after driver update

I was having issues where my screen would go black after 15-20 minutes of play and crash to desktop without any error code but also sometimes it would give many, many, many error codes like "2d weapon/sword" *click okay* "2d weapon/axe" so on and so forth until I just open task manager and shut down poe.

I updated my graphics card driver, I am using nvidia gtx 980 video card and have solved the crashing to black screen issue I was having but now every time I load the game, login to server, load to a zone/hideout/other player hideout/town instance it takes between 15-45 seconds to load the instance. I have poe loaded into a partition on my SSD and prior to the driver update it would take approx 2-3 seconds to load a zone, only a few seconds longer if someone had a very decorated hideout or something.

Is there anything I can check on my end to figure out why my game is loading so slowly now? I feel like I am back on my old potato of a PC I used to play poe on years ago. It kinda sucks and I miss my 3 second load times. Please help!

sounds like 2 different problems, the driver one resulting in black screens and the problem of not loading resources from content.ggpk (you weren't much specific about the error messages).

i would check the harddisk for errors using scandisk which comes with windows.


as a longtime exile you likely know but if the upper doesn't help, run packcheck.exe from the poe install dir (if you run the standalone version) from a dos command window.
it checks the game's ressources for errors.

i would also recommend scanning your pc for malware after booting from a independent medium running linux like a dvd or usb stick.
