Left click move Spectral Throw vs Vaal Spectral Throw

Sorry if this has been answered before, but for a while i've been playing with a Vaal Spectral Throw on my ranger character with the normal portion of spectral throw bound to my left click.

While i've been using vaal spectral throw with the normal portion bound to my left click, i've been able to move around using left click and spectral throw bound to left click with no issues. The skill would only use when holding shift (attack while not moving) or while directly hovering over an enemy.

I recently bought a normal version of normal spectral throw with higher quality than my vaal version and i attempted to use it, but while using my spectral throw while bound to left click it does not allow me to move. I FEEL like i've checked my settings to make sure this isn't related to me being silly. It immediately allows me to move on left click with spectral bound on left click with a vaal gem equipped but not a normal.


is this normal?
