Increased projectile damage does not apply properly
Using spark, if I socket a faster projectile gem that says it gives 15% increased projectile damage my damage goes from 64-1228 to 67-1283.
If I socket a Greater Multiple Projectiles gem, my damage drops from 64-1228 to 34-654(despite having 22% increased projectile damage with the 50% decreased projectile damage). Same results with ice spear and fireball. Last edited by kalistan#1750 on Mar 19, 2012, 8:18:13 PM

"you don't understand the terminology/mechanics of the game. It doesn't say 50% decreased projectile damage as far as I know, it says 50% less 'Less' and 'more' stack multiplicatively for the damage, while 'increased' and 'decreased' stack additively. 50% less damage with 22% increased damage means that you get: {Base damage + additive damage} * {1 + 0.22 + all your other additive modifiers added together (spell damage, elemental damage, etc.)} * {0.5 (multiple projectiles) * all other multiplicative bonuses (multiplied together)} Fresh cakes for all occasions. you're right, just wasn't expecting to get 1/4 of the listed upgrade. just wasn't aware of how it mathed it all out. thanks :)
