FPS stutter and Server instability have been atrocious since yesterday.
Every few steps there’s a slight pause, lags during skill animations, and during encounters involving opening strong boxes/essences etc, there’s a freeze of a second or more. I’ve died a few times to this freeze, and at level 90 it’s not easy to gain experience. This on top of server drops and disconnects, or failure to enter new instances.
It was relatively fine before this, or at least the stutters didn’t impair gameplay so much. My new computer runs this game well for the last week or so since Betrayal launch. I literally ran 5 man parties a day or two back with smooth as cheese gameplay. What happened since? Something in that new patch? Someone fiddling with the servers? " Haven't noticed any freezing yet, thank god. But the Texas server for me has been spotty. |

" You missed the 30 minutes leading up to the crash a few hours ago. You also may not be exploding packs of mobs, either, since I've been getting random full on 2-3 second freezes when blowing stuff up with Vortex+Herald of Ice |

" I've been at work ;) Not exploding packs of mobs yet, because I don't have the 7ex to buy my Inpulsas. |

What really alienate my so far is terrible servers and net code behavior.
I really getting sick about it just now. It can load 3-5 minutes now (!!!!) into map, town and even any HO. How is this possible in any way?! It was so much better last leagues, even in this one - two days left on, it was close to ok. Now its just terrible. I had like 20-30 times kicked to login screen yesterday evening and todays session. And about 7 just crashes to desktop. Plainly and straight, no telling anything to me. And the game is telling me it cannot connect to the servers, or it lost contact to the realm. All this destroying precious portals to expensive maps and public parties places I was in.. No matter what servers nearby I try. All Europe ones. I just not trying ones from other continents, may be I should? Do they really really SO overcrowded?? (Just now posted this in another thread - can check in my Recent posts history) Also, animations tied to ping and connect are just a hillarious move in coding. This have to be fixed ASAP. The Texas PoE realm has been a problem for quite some time now (well before Betrayal). Somewhere in the Dallas area Networklayer has either a faulty node or it is just being overloaded (more data packets than it can handle) some of the time. Just ran my own WinMTR test to Dallas from SW Florida (Comcast Internet to Miami and then Networklayer) at 2:15 pm on 2018-12-20 and it looks clean. Evening is a better time to run WInMTR test to see if there are overloaded nodes in the Networklayer backbone. I play on the WDC realm as I've found it to be more stable than Dallas from my location but this morning I did suffer some stuttering and freezing from packet loss.

Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration. The perfect solution to fix Trade Chat: www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2247070 |

I don’t know if it’s a US realm issue or not, but I play on Singapore realm. Not doing fancy big things like parties or whatnot, just running my own maps solo. Very distinctive stutters everywhere, and I’ve been playing the same skill so far and the lag is very noticeable. Start-stop stutters, freezes when big mobs appear. Unstable instances, long loading times.
Didn’t have this issue even a day or two back, so I’m very curious what gives. Last edited by Hayrich#0469 on Dec 20, 2018, 2:55:24 PM

Edit: After running extended tests I got this: ![]() 2 nodes in Dallas (dal04.networklayer.com and dal03.networklayer.com) are dropping 43% and 40% of the WinMTR test packets. Even if these 2 nodes are giving a low priority for responding to ICMP requests and thus appear to be dropping 40%+ it is an indication of some form of communication problems and this is why I don't use the Dallas PoE realm. My link to the WDC realm also has problems in Atlanta and WDC: ![]() Again 2 nodes (atl01.networklayer.com and wdc02.networklayer.com) are causing packet loss, just not quite as bad as Dallas. These kinds of Networklayer data flow problems have plagued GGG for many years. Chris and company are well aware of this but are helpless to do anything about it (It would cost them millions to switch to another game hosting company with a better backbone). The game is right now completely unplayable. I have lag spikes of 5-10 seconds where everything just stops (game is running, static effects is being played) and then the subsequent rubber-banding effect afterwards.
