Arcane Surge on Crit in the new Shield

Hello,

So i bought the new unique shield Bitterbind Point for the +1 totem craft.

I noticed the shield has a mod that reads "Gain Arcane Surge when you deal a Critical Strike"

The thing is that i'm playing arc totem crit build, and i am not getting arcane surge on crits.

I have assassins nodes and "90% inc crit chance if you haven't crit recently" enchant on boots, but Arcane Surge doesn't proc.

I checked in PoB and saw that the Arcane Surge line is Red, like it's not applying to my build.

Can someone explain to me if this is intended?

Hiya,

Your totem's crits (and hits) do not count as being yours.

If you yourself crit (e.g. with Orb of Storms) then you'd gain Arcane Surge.
