Syndicate encounter dont feel rewarding
" I haven't died yet, on my first character, in any encounter and I've done all that came my way. I hate to say "gitgud" but honestly, dude. The crafting you are unlocking with the veiling is epic. Have you looked at all the options you probably have, now? This is like an alternate universe from my game. Just one example I unlocked 1 extra zombie on helm/armour in like act 6-7. That's awesome for my summoner. And the others I have are so useful I haven't even gotten around to that one. And you're building up to those great safehouse encounters, you know right? A few levels back I got the Tiny crafting station, threw my first 5L white ES armor in there and got an awesome result from moving quickly. Got high health and a resist and then exalted till it wouldn't let me any more. Stick with it...or not I guess...but if you figure out survivability I think you'll come around. |

I have to strongly disagree.
First off - the experience reward is massive for each Syndicate member. I don't know how many times while going through the Acts I have leveled while interacting with defeated Syndicate members. Second - the loot is certainly not at Incursion or long Delve node level of explosion, but if you are using those as a BASELINE for reward, your bar is set way too high. And if you haven't played PoE long enough to learn that larger loot explosions just mean more garbage left on the floor - then you still have a ways to go in this game. Third - interaction with the Syndicate board is, to me, reward in itself. This is an interesting and novel addition to the game that, for once, is not completely brainless. Even now that I understand the fundaments I still enjoy manipulating who goes where (within the RNG allowance, of course). Just goes to show you the sometimes low IQ approach to this game where mindless loot explosions and one eye on Netflix is the desired mode of play. Disappointing. Finally, I ended up looking at the veil mod reveals as you go through the Acts as just crafting progression. I never really looked for specific veils in these items as much as I looked at what I wanted to level up for crafting later. It is farther in end game you want to focus on specific mods. They give good experiences, sometimes gooduniques, good rares with unique mods (shock when focus ?).
It seems quite a bit to me already SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

" I mostly agree with your sentiments, except the bolded part, and one more thing. The other thing is that it is exceptionally disappointing to kill 3 syndicate members and have no veiled items drop. It should be at least one per event, with extra chances for each extra member. As for the bolded part, loot-splosions are desired because it's not abut the garbage, it's about the extra chances for something good. The more stuff that drops, the better the odds that one of them might have *some* value. That said, I do think the forts are particularly rewarding in this regard because the healing totems are counted as unique monsters, so their drop pool is better (and I've had multiple uniques off them). Tired of trolls? Ignore them.

" pretty much everything i wanna say. only thing i would add is you can fix the rewards by choosing which members of syndicate you wanna face at safehouse. with that you can get pretty amazing stuff done in one safehouse. like 22 quality flasks or 24 quality armours or 25 maps Trust your mind and strengthen your abilities!

Safehouse are fine and I'm sure syndicate probably drops more stuff in maps because you have better quantity/rarity
My complain was mostly from leveling, I mean a few delve and invasion here and there gave me way more loots than my whole time killing syndicate while leveling. Its while leveling below 60 that I pay more attention to loot and minor currency after that I put the filter to strict and dont bother much. Last edited by ffogell#6809 on Dec 13, 2018, 5:30:57 PM
