Coloring a item

How do you effectively color items now without Vorci, is spamming chromes the only way. Before you use the spend 5 chromes for 1 green socket or something like that but I can't seem to find that again.

you have to find the recpective recipe before you can use the recolor crafting in the one crafting bench
