over 100000 armor?

Hello people.

Ive been doing some theory crafting this fine day, and well I must be doing something wrong... right?

Before you comment on the maths in this thread, theres a law that basicly says the more variables in an equation the less of an effect rounding makes. Basically on average you round up as much as you round down. So keep that in mind.

So here's the ideas. Iron reflexes, grace, determination, good gear, almost all the armor passives, and the buff multipliers

Assuming 250 dex (50% evasion) +300% armor from passives

Chest 2.5k
sheild 2.2k
books 700
gloves 500
helmet 700
belt 400

grace 1.3k * 1.3 = 1.7k

lets call your evasion + grace = 7.5k this is multiplied by 4.5(armor + eva mod)* 1.66(determination)

50k armor

Oh wait I knew i was forgetting something. Granite flasks and iron skin

This puts our base up to 14k and gives another 100% or is that 130% armor percentage?
(7.5k + 6.6k)* (4.5 + 1) * 1.66
14k*9 = 125k armor

Thats being conservative.

Thats a 5k hit reduced to a 2.5k hit without flask, and reduced to 1.3k hit with flask
1k hits hit for 200 or 100 with flask

Anyway I went rather extreme with this and i cant imagine this being used for anything other than face tanking for your party. But yeah over 100k. Is there anything im missing, doing wrong, or something that might make the build even sillier.
IR doesn't work like:

( (Evasion * Evasion%) + Armour) * Armour%

It's more like:

(Evasion * (Evasion%+Armour%)) + (Armour * Armour%)
Brutus. Do you even sync?

Exactly

Enfeeble>>>>>>>>>>>>100k armor
I applaud your effort to validate that 100k armor might be the point when armor is useful, but it was wasted. Even with 1 million armor, you're gonna get owned by everything.

Untrue. Once you hit around 80k armor, you can get out of the ohko range of map brutus without kaoms. 900k armor would get you 89% reduction.
not at all. Brutus hits for like 2.5k i beleive. He tends to 1 shot in maps that have like +80% physical damage mods and curses... The build as is can easily tank merci brutus.

Also I didn't double dip IR I did Evasion * (Evasion%+Armour%). If it wasnt clear I was stacking full evasion gear. Then that armor got hit by multipliers.
what i suspect is with good items you could make a viable build thathits 100k armor youd probably need a six link, with power siphon gmp added fire weapon elemental, face tank it hitting with 5 projectiles.
with point blank and iron grip hmmm.

Wouldnt you look weird wearing those on your feet? ;)
How is my english?

This actually will not work, You can only reliably get about 100-200% armor/evasion nodes at the most from the tree. This is because you are still going to need just as much hp because of magic damage so getting all that armor is useless if anything with magic damage one shots you. The other thing is that the armor and evasion nodes only stack once and then its additive, only the aura is multiplicative.

I actually worked it out with a build and with end game gear using the auras you can ideally expect 25-30k armor, without any flasks(with the right flask combos you can probably hit 60k though (a granite and a flask with added evasion during effect), it still is a good bit and does reduce the damage a lot but still is lackluster when you consider you use all those points for only physical damage.

Even if that gives you a 30% average increase in your damage reduction compared to no armor nodes, it only adds 30% ehp against physical only.

The problem is for those same amount of points you could double or triple your hp adding a full 100% or 200% ehp against all forms of damage.

The entire reason armor is useless is because it only effects 1 damage type, if armor was effective for all damage it would be worth it. The problem is 1 passive point in armor gives you slightly less damage reduction than 1 point in hp nodes. The thing is hp is effective for all damage types not just 1 so there is never a reason to get a single armor node.
