Super High Strength Builds

honestly this is a poor way to plan a build and isnt worth even trying becaues you could get WAY more resistance, health, and damage without going for just strength.

10 points of strength only gives 2% melee damage, and 5 hp. which is VERY small compared to the damage nodes you chose not to take, let alone any utilities that come with it.

so yea, not a good way to plan and terrible idea all together

He's stated multiple times that he wants a high strength build. He does not want a normal build. This is why we have such as massive skill tree, is it not? So we can do what we want, not what's most effective.

This.

I wish you luck with your build @ OP.
Im interested in how it goes. Don't let these people talk you out of it. If you want a high STR build, I say go for it!

If you check out most of the high level marauder builds, they take little to no damage nodes in the tree. So the "you do no damage" argument kinda falls.
Life is tough... but it is tougher if you're stupid.
Tweaked a bit, current end ideas look something like this:

High Strength Mace Marauder Build

Nothing ties you into using 1H+Shield, 2H, or DW, by the way.

62% increased Melee Physical Damage
69% increased Physical Damage with Maces
15% increased Attack Speed
6% increased Attack Speed with Maces
10% reduced Enemy Stun Threshold with Maces

+580 to Strength
+60 to maximum Life
205% increased maximum Life
7.4% of Life Regenerated per Second
0.2% of maximum Life Regenerated per second per Endurance Charge

145% increased Armour
+21% to all Elemental Resistances
+5% to maximum Fire Resistance
+5% to maximum Cold Resistance
+5% to maximum Lightning Resistance
+18% to Cold Resistance
+18% to Lightning Resistance
+18% to Fire Resistance

+1 Maximum Endurance Charge
2% of Physical Attack Damage Leeched back as Life
Enemies Cannot Leech Life From You
You take 30% reduced Extra Damage from Critical Strikes
Ignore all Movement Penalties from Armour
2% increased Movement Speed

Your hits can't be Evaded
Never deal Critical Strikes
Cannot Evade enemy Attacks
Cannot be Stunned

+20 to Intelligence

The build doesn't come close to maxxing out elemental resists only via passives. This is acknowledged. I left it so that the marauder +15%s could be picked up by element to augment gear that is found late-game. Also, I'm expecting that one of the main aspects of the defense, high health regen, would be powerful enough to not need to be running around at 80%+.

Even if I'm wrong, the build is easily tweakable to max whatever resist is lacking.

120 points is rediculous, what does the build look like at 85 points? You have to make sure a build will succeed with only 85 points because you'll never get to 120 if your 85 point build doesn't work

I am building a pure strength 2h Marauder. I really think its viable. Lvl 83 atm, I have the build figured out for the most part. 2 6 links would be nice. Using Heavy Strike + Ground Slam. Want to link them with melee damage, added fire dmg, life leech (HS) - life on hit (GS), Blood magic, and lastly Stun or Item Quantity. Want to use determination, vitality and anger as auras. Remaining mana will be used for Leap Slam, any of strength totems. Last but not least Molten Shell and Warlord's Mark with Reduced Mana and Increased Duration.
Kifina, what is you dps ?
