3.5 Doryani's Fist Elementalist feedback

So I'm planning to start self cast Arc and move towards a Doryani's Fist build once I have it available later on. It's based loosely on the previous Build of the Week featuring it, using CoMK with Arc. Sadly I do not have access to PoB on this PC to compare values in one thing or another.

Choosing Arc because after some testing with a few other skills, it just felt nicer. Seemed to spread shock and chill farther and faster than anything else, though it won't make use of any increased AoE we have like shock nova would. Having a Vaal Arc would also allow me to throw them out while mapping for a bit of extra burst on tougher packs.

Leveling as Arc I'd probably aim for something like this, that I could later switch out the cast speed nodes for what I need.

Double Curse

More Pen

Lvl 100 Double Curse + More Pen for if I ever decide to attempt to max it out, or anyone looking at this does I guess.

I'd personally probably pick up Double Curse first before anything else, being able to have Conductivity as well as something help with health and mana would be great.

6L Shield Charge - CoMK - (Vaal) Arc - added lightning - innervate - faster attack/lightning pen depending on how thespeed feels.

4L Herald of Ice - Herald of Thunder - Ice Bite - Innervate (or if I go double curse, curse on hit + warlords/poachers until I get a shaper/elder ring)

4L CwDT - Stone Golem - Lightning Golem - Immortal Call

Fit in Blasphemy + Conductivity, and if there happens to be any room anywhere I might throw in a Tempest Shield.

Uniques I'm looking into acquiring later on are Doryani's Fist of course, Esh's Mirror, Impresence (lightning), and Inpulsa's (Carcass Jack would probably be what I use until then). Devoto's would probably help with the speed of the build, especially since there's no negative to it.

Shaper/Elder warlords mark ring, with possibly one of the mark of the elder/shaper rings, though I think another rare would be better in the end. Rare resist boots, stygian vise for another +lightning damage jewel.

Flasks would include a Vessel of Vinktar of course, a few health with freeze/bleed removal, leaving me two slots to play with. If I want to bother balancing resists around it, wise oak would be great, or I could carry a writhing jar or two just for more quick bursts of Arc, though still not sure how I feel about that yet.


I've done my own builds before, but I've never tried to plan it out as much so as this one. Looking for any feedback on it, or what I could do better.

You waste a lot of points.

3 of the penetration passives which you skilled are not working because they are only if you use a weapon but you don't use a weapon.

Unarmed =/= Weapon
