Static strike beams / melee splash
The beams from static strike do not currently melee splash, despite being benefiting from "melee attack" modifiers and being single target.

" Thanks for your report. Melee Splash says "Support single-target melee attack skills, causing their melee strike to deal splash damage around the target." The initial melee strike you do with Static Strike WILL splash, however the beams do not count as a melee strike and will not splash. Sorry for the confusion, I hope this helps. | |
Thanks for the post, as a follow up I tried it with the Slayer node "Impact" which just says melee attacks, nothing about a melee strike.
That doesn't work either, is that bugged? jsdf

" I think the keyword is melee. The beams dont count as melee so it wont work with them. U should try ancestral call on static strike. Works better than melee splash IMO. |

" The beams do count as melee, you can test pretty easily by seeing their damage go up with melee phys gem, melee weapon damage clusters on the tree etc. jsdf Last edited by jsdf#1922 on Dec 5, 2018, 3:31:43 PM

Yeah u're right been checking poe wiki and apprently beams qualify as melee. although they can chain so they're also projectiles. Maybe the do not "apply" a melee strike on hit even if they can be supported by melee gems or nodes.
