What's the point not to use Belly of the Beast?

Belly is kinda dated with 8L gloves and helms you can wear Kaoms in any build that needs serious life...like 1300-1600 difference. The you got shaper/elder armors which can roll % life and like 160 life so no I don't think Belly is all that. For SC I'd never wear one. HC still has utility but only limited.

What I was thinking is balance. On end game we are 1 hit exiles. If we can't get at least 5k life... we are dead... and evasion is only delatation factor because sooner or later it will hit you. The only way to survive is get more life. So the question is... get armour and be hit many times and survive because of life pool or get evasion and die... later. Evasion should have some mitigation parameter to get more armours viable and compensate lower life pool.

Wait what? You need a belly to get 5k life? Besides life is only part of the deal all you want is a high ehp. My main char in delve league wears a shadowstitch for example and still has about 11k ehp. Belly is a nice cheap allrounder and perfectly fine for newer players but I can't think of a single build where Belly would be bis.

torturo: "Though, I'm really concerned, knowing by practice the capabilities of the balance team."
top2000: "let me bend your rear for a moment exile"

So edgy!
I actually have never used Belly in the years I've played the game. I can see people using it as a budget but there are better options, even rares especially today are much stronger then belly.

I was playing few characters around 90. For all of them best armour is Belly. Are there any other options? I was trying perfect form, queen of the forest, Kaom or Yriels Fostering... All of them are much worst comparing to Belly. This is so stupid.

Try a low life build?
Try a summoners build?
Try a key-item chest build?
...

What is your definition of worse?

6.300 life and 200k dps?
6.100 life and 300k dps?

A bit narrow your statement...

Belly is probably in the 99.9th percentile of rares... meaning you'd have to go through about 1000 rares to find one that beats it. Posting examples of rares that beat it cleanly is just showing off that you have one.

Good place for a unique to be. It can be beat by rares but doesn't cry out "wimp" if you use it.

YES
Belly is always a good standard to measure other life based armors by. But damage wise it gets beaten by everything, escpecially things like loreweave, inpulsa (clear speed i guess) and a +% crit or +1 skills rare armor.
Defensive wise it gives alot of life and some resistances, with a buff for life flasks.
However thats it .. no max res or ele damage reduction, no Kaoms heart life level, no life recovery bonus.. nothing. So its pretty one dimensional and i thin it just got powercrept by rares and the meta uniques.
Also .. ES builds obviously dont want it anywhere near them, and casters and summoners usually have specific body armors aswell.
For jugg :)

EDIT: High armour which is double with the ascendancy node and the "Take no extra damage from critical strike" is huge because it does also target spells which crit.
