|
I already asked support for something similar, and they answer me that
" Now i made this for ahk. Is it ok? (just for leveling up gem for 1 use)

Yeah should be ok. it's just one action there.

" Could you perhaps detail why? From what I know, macros that only perform one server action should be legal. If it was a macro to automatically level up gems as their level became available or if it leveled up all available gems, it would clearly be against the rules, but all this does is skipping mouse movement. |

" From the thread in my signature; ![]() I'm happy to show you a screenshot of the e-mails in question if that helps? That said, it's a gross oversimplification to claim that macros which only perform one server-side action are allowed by GGG. By that logic, chicken scripts which automatically log you out when your health reaches X% are permitted. It's akin to declaring theft legal because "you can't murder people, but stealing doesn't kill anyone." There's more than one rule. I don't know how many; nor do I know what they all are. That's the entire reason I've spent dozens of hours of my time painstakingly going through the various sources available - and e-mailing GGG multiple times myself - to try to reverse-engineer their policy on macros. I have a suspicion why it isn't permitted, but I don't know for certain and I dislike posting conjecture as that leads to misinformation. To be simultaneously accurate yet unsatisfying - it is not allowed because GGG say so. GGG do not offer first-party Technical Support.

Thank you very much for your reply; this was sufficiently satisfying for my purposes.
And while I didn't specify it further, I meant one server action per player action. Automatic macros don't require a player action, so they obviously don't fulfill this criterion. Your thread is also very helpful. I will definitely use it as a reference if I set up macros again. I currently have none running because when I emailed support about my use of Trade Companion only sending single messages (rather than inviting / kicking players with the same button, which is the standard configuration and almost definitely not legal), and they said they couldn't tell. That in itself is also a testament to the complexity of their actual ruling (I understand they can't check all third party software, but I clearly detailed what it does and how I use it). |

Wait...wouldn't logout-macros be forbidden than as well?
Technically you press "esc" for the game menu, move your cursor on "logout" and press "lmb". That would be three actions bound in one macro --> forbidden. Don't get it^^ |
|
" Yup. GGG thinks that this particular macro is fine. Go figure... Remember, suffering is convenient.
That is why many people prefer it. Happiness requires effort. |

they don't think its fine its just impossible to detect a macro from a genuine disconnect so they either have to ban people with shitty connections or let it pass.
Saying it was illegal would just create a huge amount of work for them with no real upside. |
