Killing Bosses on Red Maps?

If you decide to farm red maps is it worth killing the boss asuming that your single target damage is not the greatest and it involves some risk of dying and losing experience?

Basically, is the boss loot worth the struggle if your character is not too great boss killer?

not the loot or exp themselves but bosses have a 1/5 chance of dropping a random map. might not always be a high map afaik. only you can decide if they are worth it.
Usually no - except early on when map sustain is still a priority.
And even thats questionable at best as kompaniet pointed out.

If you can sustain red maps but you cant just burst down bosses in no time, its not worth the time investment xp wise. You´ll always farm more xp by skipping bosses and focusing on trash mobs.

If you want to farm loot over xp then bosses offer little incentive to kill them except maybe guardians and higher tier bosses for their individual drops. But thats only worth it, if you get there early in league. Later on those drops value will diminish quickly - if you get those to drop in the first place that is.
Only kill them if they don't have unbearably long invulnerability phases. The reef boss for example is worthless. The carcass not so much if you can kill him before he runs away.
