i keep dying in act 3 cruel

Ok so im a fire witch, and i dont have any summoning skills. i do use spell totem, etc.

Im lvl 51 and have around 500 hp and 1000 energy shield with discipline.

I have 25 fire, 26 cold, and 53 lightning resistance. i run discipline and clarity auras.

Everytime i fight mobs, they take out my es quickly and 2 shot my hp.

So my question is, what am i doing wrong?
and do i need more es?

My passives

level up some more. try lvling at the twilight strand. it's the starting area

Using a different build but around same hp/es stats, died quite a few in cruel aswell. Guess it's quite normal. Just have to be really carefull, use skeletons and whatnot as a shield. Am using dual totem frost build which adds alot of survivability for me, yet I still die at times=P

Option would be to grab health nodes and armor/es gear and respec to ES lateron, which is what people on hardcore with similar builds do I guess.

Better this way so I think you already know the answer and what to do.

Act 3 is all about nasty elemental dmg.

Even when not playing hardcore, I'd recommend always maxing out your resistances (as far as possible). It's ok to use specific gear for specific areas. Some are heavy fire, some require more lightning resistance etc.

25 fire resistance is basically asking to get raped by those bad guys.

make new character or get many regrets.
there is no way literally. i faced this problem many times..
or show us your build.
do you have life leech or ES leech(ghost reaver)..
anyway show me your build...

It would be so much easier to advice you if you post all your gear.

I can bet you can fix your gear with 1-5chaos per item! and getting 75rez is the top priority!

Also we could see your skill tree but its less important than gear.

How is my answer the worst exactly?

Besides from that, I agree that we would need more information on his build and gear.

But the lack of resistances is what kills people in act 3. I stand by that comment. Actually, I'd even say if you think that is false, then you have to reconsider your knowledge. Like, back to the drawing-board, square one and all.

Of course his hit points look scary, but I have seen people make it to maps with 600ish life as a hybrid. I wouldn't consider that fun, but it is doable.

But having neither a big pool of life/es nor mitigation through resistances is a bad idea obviously.

Your resists are low, and 500 HP is asking to get it up the arse from chaos damage.

Beyond that, without seeing your build, we can't advise you.

ur lvl is fine, but they probably dont atk ur spell totem enough, i use fire totem instead and stand los and firestorm when solo'ing. tho the obvious solution is to group, fire witches are a glass cannon that need a tank to be at 100%, but if u do the totem right (throw it ahead of u off screen) then mobs will always atk it, and when it dies instantly put up another one. imo no need to run discipline at this lvl yet, id leave it off until at least act 2 merciless tbh... but maybe that's just my playstyle.
