Question on Item Rarity Support interaction in Mines

Hello, I am unclear if the loot explosion at the end of each segment is due to the monsters I had slain up to finishing the node or if it is unrelated and just a random bonus (and therefore mobs must have near 0 drop rate while escorting the trolley.) If it is due to the enemies I have slain en route, I would assume that the support gem Item Rarity would affect my loot explosions rarity? Does anyone know with certainty if this is the case? Thank you.

The crawler collects all loot dropped from monsters killed near it, and spits it all out at the end of the delve. Your IIQ/R modifiers are taken into account when you kill the monsters. The crawler doesn't create any additional loot by itself, so your IIQ/R at the moment of the lootsplosion doesn't matter.
