Need suggestions for shadow dual wielding + poison build
Good day everyone,
I finally finish the campaign with my necromancer and I am ready for a fresh start with a new character. I am looking for a dual wielding build with poison for shadow. I did a quick look around for informations but couldn't really find anything specific to what I am expecting. I am not looking for help to build up my skill tree because I want to make it my own way (and it is the fun part of the game anyway). So here is the basic things I am looking for : 1- Dual wielding (claws or daggers) 2- Mainly poison build 3- No minions except maybe 1 or 2 golems at most. 4- Which spell do you suggest? No leap slam allowed (I hate that spell). 5- Mostly melee combat + dodging or elemental resistances build 6- Suggestions for equipment and jewels 7- no more than 3 active spells That is pretty much it! Also, it doesn't matter if the build is not as strong as my necromancer build. The game was so dang easy to clear with it so a little bit challenge won't hurt me. Thanks a lot for your time. Lots of possibilities …
But why not Viper Strike crit assassin So here is the basic things I am looking for: 1- Dual wielding (claws or daggers) - When using Viper Strike while dual wielding, you alternate weapons. Both versions are fine and you can use cheap unique items. Claw - Mortem Morsu / The Wasp Nest; Dagger - Taproot / Bino's Kitchen Knife 2- Mainly poison build - poisoning enemies is the key here 3- No minions except maybe 1 or 2 golems at most. - you can use Herald of Agony for the bonuses and the minion (supported minion deals great damage) 4- Which spell do you suggest? No leap slam allowed (I hate that spell). You can use whirling blades as movement skill 5- Mostly melee combat + dodging or elemental resistances build - it´s true melee skill. You´re in permanent danger but you can hit pretty hard. 6- Suggestions for equipment and jewels Besides uniq weapons I have suggested earlier you should use Growing Agony jewel but you don´t need any specific items for leveling, just decent amount of life, resistances and maybe some extra layer of defense (evasion or good flasks). You can build character in a different ways in endgame (life x CI, different weapons). 7- no more than 3 active spells - Do you mean the main skills? You can just use viper strike and movement skill if you like. Both life and ES versions are possible for endgame but ES requires heavy investment to be successful. Trickster ascendancy is also possible. It´s a bit easier to build CI version bcos of some ascendancy passives related to ES. Assassin is the poison king but Trickster will work too. Thanks a lot for the help, appreciate it.
As for my meaning with active spell, I consider active spell a spell you need to cast all the time like molten strike and a passive spell like auras or golem summoning. I like your idea of viper strike, you can achieve 100% poison by just linking lesser poison to it so I can build my gear without worrying about it. It is creating a problem with Mortem Morsu tho, the 60% chance of poison on hit is now useless. Maybe Ornament of the East as example would be better in that case? As for trickster, it is in fact a pretty good idea when I look at the tree. That "Patient Reaper" is pretty useful. If you pair Ornament of the East with Harness the Void, it seem I could get some extra damage there also. Also, so far I am using whirling blades and herald of agony as you suggested and I am pretty happy with them. On this, thanks again! It helped me to focus on more specific aspects. Have a great day! |

a friendly reminder are you aware of how new poison works? because you can no longer double dip if you already know how poison works after 3.0 patch then you can ignore this
but just for your information im leaving this here " |

viper strike with mass duration/evasion/acrobatics/ranger flask spam. win everything with skill and fun. just don't get hit by mean things.
go to the scion life wheel through duelist phys damage nodes and up to the assasin nodes. requires good rares to work properly. |

" You don´t need any extra chance to inflict poison with the Assassin bcos of his Noxious Strike ascendancy passive (Viper strike + Noxious strike = 100% chance to inflict poison on hit). " Chance to poison is wasted here but both weapons are good for leveling. Ornament of the East will be better but you can use it a bit later. " Ornament of the East is fine weapon for leveling not for endgame though. As I told you before if you are going for crit based character I would stick to Assassin. The Noxious strike is also must have for all poison Assassin builds bcos of an extra poison duration you can inflict then. The trickster can offer better life/ES sustain through Patient Reaper (recovery) and you can use some good evasion chests such as QoTF even on ES CI build bcos of Escape artist. You can try to link the Herald of agony with gems such as minion damage, pierce, damage on full life etc to get full power from it. Herald of purity is also an option to boost your both physical and poison damage. Last edited by Rakiii#5559 on Oct 11, 2018, 9:21:25 AM
