No increased effect from level 21 Wrath aura over level 20

I have a level 21 Wrath aura gem and a level 20 Wrath aura. When I swap out the level 20 gem for the level 21 the dps on my skills does not increase.

I have tried it from multiple slots, and multiple skills. I do see a dps drop if I disable the Wrath aura.

If you're talking about character Cavron then the gem is in an Essence Worm - it'd be more accurate to talk about level 22 and level 23 Wraths due to Wrath being an Aura.

Which skills?

The Wrath skill gem does two things;

• It causes attacks to deal additional Lightning Damage.
• It gives spells More Lightning Damage.

The effect on attacks increases with every level of the skill, however the effect on spells does not. According to the wiki, the effect on Spells is 22% for both level 22 and level 23 Wraths.

Looking at your character, I don't see any attacks. I see both Lightning Golem - which uses spells - and Arc, which wouldn't see any benefit from the higher level Wrath gem (22% = 22%).

But there's so little information provided that it's impossible for anyone - GGG or otherwise - to say for sure whether there's a bug here. You're posting about the interaction of Wrath and other skills, but not telling us what the other skills are. We can't read your mind.

I'm using a totem build that uses the arc skill. I have an essence worm ring which grants an additional 2 levels to socketed auras. So I have tested this aura at the following levels using the reported damage on the arc skill as a test.

Wrath Level 19
Wrath Level 20
Wrath Level 21
Wrath Level 21 (level 19 socketed into the ring)
Wrath Level 22 (level 20 socketed into the ring)
Wrath Level 23 (level 21 socketed into the ring)

Here are my results with the reported dps of Arc
No Wrath: 38,547.3
Wrath Level 19: 43,768.4
Wrath Level 20: 43,768.4
Wrath Level 21: 43,768.4
Wrath Level 21 (level 19 socketed in ring): 46,641.2
Wrath Level 22 (level 20 socketed in ring): 47,028.6
Wrath Level 23 (level 21 socketed in ring): 47,028.6

I had not tested this out with a level 19 Wrath aura last time, so my results this time are even more confusing. I'm not sure why the reported difference between the two level 21 auras. I did not have any linked support gems to the auras which would throw off the numbers. I also did not remove any gear or gems which effected my damage
