So i was looking at some items and they were priced 1.5 ex. How many chaos do i pay for the .5 ex cost? Or do i have to check with the seller?

at the current price of 110c for 1ex that's 55c aka half an exalt my bruther

you usually just check the current rates. you can see them on poe.trade on the currency section
http://currency.poe.trade/ just click exalt, then in the 2nd row click chaos. it currently shows 112/113 chaos per ex, so .5 ex would be about 56 chaos |

The set value of 0.5 exalted is 10 exalted shards.
