Why GGG has the best employees
Just my two cents.
I’ve basically talked with a lot of support of various game companies, for many different things. I can comfortably say that nothing beats GGG in terms of that and it’s one of the major reasons I will always stick to Path of Exile. I have only messaged them once so far, and to my surprise they took only 15 minutes to reply. And no, it was not an automated bot message, it was a real person replying to me. Next message after that took less than 5 minutes for a reply. And not to mention how friendly they were. And for the sake of being fair, I’d like to address the reason I had to contact GGG - I got banned by their system for a joke (not offensive in any way or anything similar) because it contained a word detected by it and someone reported me. Long story short, they reviewed it and saw it was a mistake, and also saw how I was being reported just for the sake of triggering the ban system (because pretty much everyone said it in chat). And what did they do? They unlocked my account in literally ~20 minutes after it happened. This was some time ago, but I do think they do deserve for the positive word to be spread and it’s the reason I am writing this. Other companies: Some other companies which I will not name, are very unprofessional. I did have something similar happen to me quite a few years ago. Keep in mind, we are talking about much bigger and richer company with far more staff members than GGG. I’ve had an account with a lot of investment banned do to their (back then) poorly developed system permanently banned. Once I contacted their support, it was like talking to someone immature with power. Even though it was their mistake, they have told me that they do not care (with those words) and that it’s not their problem. Keep in mind, that was without even checking the case out. For the record, I was banned for saying “my f****** internet is being so stupid today” and “wow, that guy just made me a new a******”. That was also after always having to wait 5+ days just to receive an automated message, because they don’t even bother reading. After my awesome interaction with GGG, I decided to give this other company a try and message them again, but the reply was pretty much the same, just more polite this time. Not to mention some games where you don’t even get a reply for reporting a bug and asking how to fix it, or any question in general. I’ve been playing PoE a lot since I found out about it, and one of the reasons being how they listen to what the players want, unlike other developers who just care about the money. But after comparing Grinding Gear Games with another companies in this aspect as well, I can comfortably say that they are the best out there. GGG, you guys are doing an amazing job in every single aspect, and I am more than proud to be playing a game that is worth both our time and money.
