What is wrong with Turong?

Why this monster has 5 times more life than any other delve monster and at the same time he has one-shotting skill which does more damage than Shaper's slam? And this is happening at depth 253 where monster level is only 82 so i have no idea how to fight him at much deeper delves. Is this was intended or Turong is bugged?

I've asked this in Bugs as well. It looks like one of the 'Fireball' attacks (not the giant one, the smaller projectile one) does some sort of invisible 'secondary' damage. When it hits you, you take instant damage from that hit, and then, immediately after that, you take a much larger amount of damage over a very short time, like 0.2 sec.

That second portion of damage has no visual, I've watched several clips of random streamers dying to it, and I've recorded myself taking that hit. You just lose a huge amount of life/es very quickly for no visible reason. There is no explosion, burn, poison or dangerous ground. The damage is not continuous, it stops very quickly if it doesn't kill you.

It really looks like ignite. PoEdb says this attack is actually a Fireball with a '100% MORE damage with Ignite' mod.

So all that is consistent with a really OP form of ignite. Except I'm immune to ignite myself and I don't see the ignite debuff icon appearing even momentarily.

This does look bugged to me.

Oh, and deeper in the delves another attack by Turong becomes even more OP: the tail spin thing (Geometry Attack). You can often encounter it in the Primeval city chambers. A rare Turong spawning in a room with the chests can be extremely hard to kill because it has T16 boss-like amount of life, and then it starts spinning its tail...

This mob type is really OP.
I was wondering why I'd occasionally almost die against random trash in delves, and this would explain quite a lot. I'm not usually the one to ask for monsters to be nerfed, but this thing seems a little OP.
We're all in this leaky boat together, people.
Yeah I was pretty sad early in league to find I could not raise Turongs as spectres and had to settle for the lesser "Gorgol Alpha" as like a pet.

Well, you know what they say... turongs don’t make a wight. ;)

Well played, sir! :)
I advocated for not nerfing Cavestaler cause it was clearly possible to see it coming before nerf, but there are many effects that seem to come out of the blue, that are (very) hard to see (playing icestorm, I know, makes it all worse regarding this) or just come after deaths and ....

This is interesting. I haven't spotted such thing* as short-time degen by myself. Instead i've seen long-time degen (6-7 seconds) which removed roughly 1k life/second and the only debuf indicator at this time was chill icon with "cold snap" tooltip text.

*edit: i'm an idiot. I've spotted this short-time degen with high damage a lot of times but i forgotten about it when i wrote this reply.

I was actually meant tail spin attack when i wrote about "one-shotting skill". At ~250 depth I've taken more damage from rare Turong's tail-spin attack than from Shaper's Slam. And my character is well protected against any damage type i.e. damage type/source of this attack isn't my weak spot.

These turong mobs are really stupid. I like hard content but a mechanic that has no visible effect and that hits you for more damage than most t16 boss attacks on a random trashmob is just plain stupid and not fair.
