Problem with Orb of Alchemy recipe. Help

I have just found 3 rare items with the same name, Strapped Mitts, which should be the recipe for an Orb of Alchemy. But it doesn't seem to work.

All must be of the same base item type (e.g., Recurve Bow) and have 20% quality:
item (normal) x1 item (magic) x1 item (rare) x1 http://en.pathofexilewiki.com/wiki/Vendor_Recipes |

What OP's trying to do will work, but they have to be the same Rare name, not the same base name.

It also states an alternative on the site if I understand it correctly.
Just above your recipe there is: All must have the same name: item (rare) x3 |

unfortunately you have a better chance of finding the chaos orb recipe 100 times over before you assemble 3 rares of the same name for the alch recipe

Yes, these alch recipes seems kinda tough compared to the Chaos x2.

Strapped MItts is not a name, it's an item type.
Foe Mantle is a name for example, not silken garb. |
