[3.4] Occult Righteous Fire | SC/HC/SSFHC |

Hello everyone! I´m an avid user of Path Of Exile just like the next guy but unlike most people i´m also an avid Righteous Fire Occultist player, it´s basically the only build i do play on SSFHC which has been my home since the release.

Caution: Not beginner friendly

Pros/Cons

Pros:
Extremely high damage output
Extremely fast clearingspeed
Not unique dependant, rares are better.

Cons:
Squishy (No defense apart from your LIFE & Curses)
Can´t run many map mods, especially no life regen / low life regen mods.
Can do uberlab but only in the hands of a skilled player

GetStarted

* First of you need to be level 36 to use Sacred Life Flask (For most convenience. Can be done with Colossal Life Flask)
* You will need Profane Chemistery (-50% Increased Life Recovery from flasks-)
* You will sustain RF-degen with using life flasks only. You will not use
purity of fire and you will not have more than 75% fire resistance.

Get these nodes at level 36 or before

These nodes are quite mandatory for the build

Gems

You´ll need a few mandatory gems and for that reason you have to do library if on new character.
Blasphemy - Poachers Mark <--- Gives you constant flask charges so you nver run out
Shield Charge - Faster Attack <--- Best movement skill imo
Righteous Fire - Con effect - Elemental Focus - Burning Damage <--- The 4 gems you want with RF until you get a 5l/6l.
Inc Crit chance - Orb Of Storm (Get these 2 gems when you have gotten Elemental Equilibrium & Elemental Overload on the passive tree.

Gear

"
My gear is not very good at the moment neither have i gotten the Broken crown so i am stuck as lifebased til i do find it or other gear with a good amount of chaos resistance.

FlaskSustain

So now we´re at the point of most importance: Incorrect flask usage will get you killed very very fast, hence why the build is complex as is. You´ll have to mod your flask appropiately to battle the RF-Degen.

The correct flasks to have: - 2 Life regen flasks that battle the RF-degen, 1 quicksilver, 1 ruby flask & the last one being an instant life flask in case of emergency.

When you are comfortable with using flasks to sustain RF-degen then you can swap out one life regen flask for (info below)
<
Granite is very good if alot of mobs that have low to medium dmg/dps
Stibnite is very good if vs high dmg hitters
<

---If the flask overheals: heals you to 100% then it is incorrect modded to your HP ratio. If you ever get to 100% with RF on the life flask will cancel and you will degen.---

---If the flask does not heal enough to battle the degen then it is incorrect modded to your HP ratio. Losing 1-200 life per second is totally fine with the life flask active. Once at 50% hp you use the instant life flask and the circle goes on and on.

Ascendancy

Ascendancy Points for LIFE-BASED

Ascendancy Points for HYBRID/LowLife-BASED

Lifebased

Life Based Occultist

As you can see on the tree i have about 20+ passives to spare but there is nothing more to take to support a life based Occculist RF playstyle as it´s not meant to be life-based permanently

https://pastebin.com/rSyW0Lrd (Path Of Building)

Hybrid/LowLifeBased

Hybrid/LowLife Based Occultist

-
As you cannot go CI with RF you go hybrid and if you do it on HC/SSFHC then you need to make sure you get one out of 2 items first:
Shavronne or The Broken Crown. Once you have all the ES gear you can then start to change your passive tree.

*You will need around 40 to 60 regret orbs in total.
* If you haven´t done uber lab you will need to remove Malediction.
*If you haven´t done merc lab you will need to remove Profane Bloom.

Wicked Ward & Vale Bastion are the ascendancy points you want as Hybrid/LowLife

To get The Broken Crown just simply chance every (Prophet Crown)

https://pastebin.com/A9Yad8Gv (Path Of Building)

Curses

Because we are running Malediction and Whispers Of Doom we will use 3 curses Poachers Mark is a mandatory before you go hybrid so you have a few options
a) Flammability <--- My choice
b) Enfeeble) <--- My choice
c) Temporal Chains

Flammability gives minions -44% fire ress at level 20 and then we have also 45% curse effectivity. 1.44 x 0.45 = 64.8%

ExtraInformation

This build is all about GoFastOrDieTryin, not going killin fast enough? You´ll die. When you transition into hybrid you want to get rid of your weapon that adds power and instead wear a really fast weapon. I had 88% movementspeed and that was not fast enough to keep up Vile Bastion at all times so knowing map layouts is needed so you do not have to backtrack.

Leveling

Information updated.
Can confirm that this guy knows what he is talking about. He helped me with various things and questions concerning low-level RF leveling and it worked out really well. (SSFHC btw ;)

I'm liking this, I do have a suggestion to help early leveling.

IMO, the 4 spell damage points early helps a lot, 42% spell damage while leveling. You can also go left and get Retribution first as well due to the skill quests that you get in A1-A4.

Leveling Tree Recommendation

Since you can't run RF until you're level 36, you can simply follow this tree from 1-36

Re-spec Into RF

Once you are at level 36, you can re-spec out of that tree and into this one for RF

Modified Pastebin w/ Leveling Tree

I wouldn´t do that. If you´re playing on SC/HC it´s fine to go for the spellpower nodes first but you do not want to have to use regret orbs or regret from quest rewards as you will use 70+ regret orbs to transition from life to hybrid/lowlife and getting 70+ to begin with on SSF SC/HC takes a very long time.

Secondary: spellpower nodes isn´t needed if you play /w arc trap to lvl from 12-36, it´s super fast as is. You can start to use RF at level 30 or even before aslong as you get alternation orbs to mod the life flask appropiately. Reason why most people go for it at 36 is because you only need a white sacred life, if you choose any other flask before sacred you have to mod it and in a new league you will not have enough alternations unless you get lucky on the first orb you use.
I haven´t been active ingame nor on the forums since early october duo to not being a huge fan of Delve. Mechanics-wise it was quite fun but it lacked depth in terms of gameplay which means it got dull pretty fast.

An infinite dungeon system without having to follow the light-radius would make so much more sense to me and would be a good alternative to mapping but since it wasn´t to my liking , i quit halfway into the season.

I will be continuing updating this guide as Occultist RF builds have always been the most fun to me because it has a huge risk-reward system attached to it.
