Act 5 Avarius is ignorantly OP

A good fight is Kaom. Hits hard enough, can be dodged, there are other things to keep an eye on, has no invulnerability phases(the main thing).
The only legitimately good fight the new expansion introduced was Solaris/Lunaris because even though they had invulnerability phases the fighting never stopped and once only one was alive she didn't hide. Now this is a good boss encounter unlike 95% of the others. |

I haven't died to Innocence or Avarius since not that long after 3.0 came out. It's not a difficult fight as long as you read his tells and listen to his verbal prompts.
I find Innocence easiest to take out while operating at close range, whether ranged or melee. I always want to see his telegraphs and that works best when close up. As for melee, being able to read the visual indicators of a wind-up very early gives you more time to reposition your character to the side of or behind Innocence, which allows you to pile on more damage before repositioning again. I don't find melee to be at a particular disadvantage when fighting Innocence, in part because it's easier to dodge his beam attack. Being slow at reading his tells may be the single biggest reason why so many characters die in this fight and why some complain about having little time to attack. Now that prestige classes will finally leave lab in 4.0, will GGG get it right this time or will they find new ways to repeat old mistakes?

I consider this fight to be the first true test of any build. If I can get past it with zero deaths, I might be onto something with the character. If I get pulverized and have to zerg him, it's time to revisit the build.
For the record, I just punked Avarience yesterday with my new champion. This build might have potential in delve. There are two types of POE players:
1) Those who want to walk uphill both ways barefoot on broken glass wearing a blindfold 2) F*cking noobs I identify as transnational Chinese. May I have access to their QOL features, please? |

Anyone here disagrees that bullet hell attack does not belong in Act 5? Or rather in the game, if he does it without any statues around to block the spheres.
And he's got tons of other attacks in Innocence form, which are out of place that early in the game. Certainly not in that speed chaining them together, plus his movement speed. Avarius is ok... even though the Act 10 version is actually easier in my opinion. Innocence is too much. Overkill. Him and Kitava (heart phase still a complete what-the-fuck). P.S: Charan, portal to town? Really? Meh I'll just alt+f4 nice boss fight. He doesn't compare to Vaal Oversoul. He compares to the "Vaal Oversouls" in Atziri's zone, if they could spam Ball Lightning. Yeah don't get me started on that Ball Lightning. Alva: I'm sweating like a hog in heat Shadow: That was fun Last edited by johnKeys#6083 on Sep 16, 2018, 8:36:55 PM

The act 10 version is easier because it doesn't have an invulnerability phase.
