He telegraphs that slam attack for about a year. Maybe don't stand in it?
Yea look at streamerhighlights, even top players like Ziz die regularely to Avarius/Innocence.

But arent you supposed to play ground slam/sunder at this point and just switch to RF at lvl 70? If you got the axe wheel and a 20q 50% inc damage Tomahawk you should melt both Avarius and Innocence down before they use their deadlier attacks like slam or bullet hell. In bossfight its pretty common in this game that having double damage is safer than having double hp.

That's a very ignorant thing to say, honestly.

Regarding the OP ... learn the mechanics and don't stand still during the whole fight ?
Some things are supposed to be dodge, better learn that fact early in the game.
SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

I think it's a good fight at the moment. The times I take the most damage are when I'm trying too hard to follow him and end up eating too many of his trail of Spark-like projectiles. But I like the tension there - the best way to avoid that attack is to just keep your distance and not follow, but keeping your distance puts you in a worse position to dodge if he does Torch next, so you're encouraged to pay attention and find a path.
It's actually not that OP, but it's much harder for melee-range characters. The dude just doesn't give you a chance to strike. I usually swap to some kind of totem for this fight when playing a melee-range build, it actually gets much easier even if your DPS becomes like 1/4 of what you had.

It's much easier to "dodge" the beam at 'melee range' though.

There is no way a boss with 4 invulnerability phases is the best one. Or even a good design. Having to spend at 2/3rd of the fight waiting out his invulnerability phases is absolutely atrocious.

Nah man, trust me, it's a good fight as in '10/10, would do again every time I make a new character'.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.
