Herald of Purity Not Working As Intended?

So, I play Bladeflurry / Reave Slayer Duelist. It is a build I've played a lot in the past, usually in my 1handed weapon slot, I use Assassins Mark, Curse on Hit, Herald of Ice. No problem I can generate power charges.

With the new Herald of Purity being physical damage I decided to test it out.

Turns our Herald of Purity cannot apply curse on hit.

Logically this makes sense, usually, my herald of ice hits the mobs and then applies the curse on hit. Herald of Purity, gives me a buff that increases my attack.

NOW! In reading the abilities

Herald of Ice = "channel ice through your hands 'adding' cold damage to your spells and attacks.

Herald of Purity = "grants a buff which adds physical damage to your spells and attacks"

So! I don't know if Herald of Purity is working as intended, based upon the text and how its spelled out the "buff" from purity is the same "buff" from ice only difference instead of cold, purity is physical.

TLDR: Herald of Purity not applying curse on hit.

Herald of ice:
they explode and deal AoE cold damage to enemies near them
Herald of purity:
minions

You link the Support with the Herald. The Herald is buffing you. You hit. Not the Herald. The Herald does not hit. So Curse on Hit linked with the Herald does nothing.

Also the Minions should not apply Curses on Hit, as it's the Minions doing the hitting, not the Herald.

Only things that hit can apply curse on hit, so the buff portion doesn't matter for this. For herald of ice, it's the explosions that curse enemies. However, herald of purity uses minions, which can't trigger curse on hit. None of the minion skills can (well, except dominating blow with the melee hit, but again, not with the minions).

I get what the three of you are saying.

And okay it makes sense it would work that way

i just thought it was the "buff" portion of ability that triggerd it

You're getting buffed. The buff is not hitting anything. If it would, it should apply the curse to you because you're the target of it.
