Summoner in Delve

Hi!

I am looking to play a summoner in next league. I am looking for something simple. Is a zombie/skeleton summoner viable? I would prefer not to use Raging spirits.

Any guides or chars I could take a look at? Nice if it is a starter friendly build.

You will want to help your skellies and zombies with SRS early game, you can drop them later if you wish. Don't forget skellies ARE slow, you will want to get minion speed ASAP (jewelry, gems).

it's more effective if you use 2 dead reckoning jewels since skeleton mages are usually stronger. warrior skeletons have to be summoned on top of an enemy they don't chase!

They dont chase the enemy? Well that makes them kinda useless then:P

Skeletons do chase things. They just move incredibly slowly, much more slowly than a player character with no extra movement speed does, so they're bad at chasing enemies. Skeletal Mages from the Dead Reckoning jewel solve this problem by shooting instead of moving, and there are certain builds which can inject enough meth in them old bones to get the damned skellingtons moving properly. But yeah - a typical earlygame Skellington build has to drop skells directly on top of whatever it wants the skells to hit to get any benefit from them.

You might be better served, in the very early game, by relying primarily on zombies with the new Holy Relic to heal them (and you). Get a basic wand attack or some such and borrow from the Templar/Guardian's new Legion Captain stuff early on before transitioning into pure summoner if you don't like the thought of ever using Raging Spirits.
