Consecrated Path ... fire conversion really?

So i see this new gem in the patch notes and it's called Consecrated Path. Below I read that it can be used with unarmed despite the description in patch notes saying weapon!

Along with this new physical herald, herald of purity, the "holy" theme and stuff all things point to a physical skill.

Then the next day comes along and the first line in the (blue) descriptions is 50% of physical damage converted to fire. Keep in mind, not one line from the patch notes had any mention of this elemental damage.

Added a new Strength/Intelligence Skill Gem - Consecrated Path: Slam the ground with your weapon at the targeted location. If an enemy is near where you target, you'll teleport to it from a short distance away, slam, and create an area of consecrated ground. Can't be supported by Multistrike, and requires a Sword, Axe, Mace, Staff or Unarmed.

Wow its a damn physical conversion skill We already saw smite gem in the preview, another phy-ele gem, last gem released tectonic slam was also phys-fire conversion. How many more of these same thing can we get.

I mean this is probably a good thing in general since this skill uses main-hand so it can use stat-sticks and ele scale really effectively but hell if i wasn't super disappointed since I expected a new physical gem.

Guess ill just support it with brutality and use it on RF character's instead for reliable consecrated ground... Sorry for the rant but I was really hopeful for a new physical melee skill :(

Excited for new patch as always, and thanks for PvP changes!
Just wish instead of 80% less damage (like cast while channeling) on item triggered skills, it was a T-value override to cooldown instead.
