Playing on a Laptop with i5- 6300U and GTX 940m

Hi,

I recently tried to play PoE on my Surface Book with a i5-6300U and a GTX-940m and 8GB RAM. The experience was quite bad honestly and now I want to ask other people on the same/similar setup what their settings and fps are.

My Settings:

DX11
VSync Off
Everything low/off
Adaptive Resolution target fps to 60


I usually get about 40-50 FPS idle but with already heaviliy reduced resolution (looks super bad).
Standing in Town with fixed 1920*1080 Resolution gives me about 40 FPS, but as I go in a Map and start killing I get one huge lagspike after another and my FPS dipps into the single digits constantly.
Any advice on what else to try? It just seems that such a old game should run much better. Dota2 for exmple, a game that looks much better runs on a constant 60fps with medium settings and full hd resolution.
