Abberath's Hooves insanely good for str. based RF?
Help me to find out if I miss something because usually when something seems too good there is a hook. Most of the times these boots are used for leveling:
But if you use it in your (str. based) RF char I think it would be bis. For example if you use increased critical strikes, culling strike, added cold dmg and added lightning dmg in your hooves and you have about 1200 str. you get: ![]() As we can see the damage from Abberath's Fury is completely meeh BUT we get: 60% increased fire dmg (at 1200 str.) Thanks to the >14% crit chance we can have elemental overload always up means another 40% more elemental dmg. On top of this we have culling strike (godly for bosses) and because the damage from Abberath's Fury is meeh anyway we can kick out the added cold dmg and added lightning dmg and add a iiq gem and a iir gem. Either I miss something or these boots have to be bis for this kind of build. Edit: And pls forget the 1.32 cast per second because we shield charge around anyway. 1. It doesn't have life.
2. Nobody really cares about increased damage on RF. If you stack enough health. You get your damage anyway. 3. There are better boots that scale both damage and life. (⌐■_■)

I can't even consider a boot that doesn't have at least 25% speed... and even that would need to have something amazing to make it worth using.

It's a noob trap basically. Looks awesome, but when you run numbers you realise they are shit.
Stacking strength is a way to go for RF, using Doon Cuebiyari and few other items. But you need really huge amount of str to be as good as regular RF - which is life based. Thats why those boots are crappy for RF: -life rf>str rf unless u invest really heavily into str, but then you lose out on some good Doryani's Sceptre action (forced to use Doon) -Hooves have a skill that deals fire dmg so it fucks up EE regardles of cold/lightning dmg gem on them -lack of any life or meaningful str gain -you don't care about ignites as RF (RF is not ignite) -modifier is "increased", not "more" -with every support gem for RF being "more" modifier, with EE and EO, that increased fire dmg per str is so miniscule you won't even feel it in str based RF -crappy movespeed -no res of any kind or any cool mods which leaves other gear more dependant upon for good rolls -even Kaom's Roots are better and cheaper option for RF because at least they give stun immunity and nice amount of life Last edited by n0z0mu#3392 on Aug 28, 2018, 4:29:49 PM

" Care to explain why? I mean you never walk you always use shield charge. German saying: Schönheit und Funktionalität in Sekundenschnelle zu ruinieren, ist dem wahren Dilettanten keine Herausforderung!

Everything you've said Abberath's Hooves can do, an Orb of Storms can do just as well. RF shouldn't need to trigger EO and all that jazz on regular packs if you're doing your job right, which just leaves bosses that you can drop OoS on and pwnooblerate that way. As stated, the Hooves screw up Elemental Equilibrium, which is a much bigger boost for RF than any reasonable level of STR bonus from the boots is.
It's a coolguy trick that doesn't really do anything but feel more clever than it is. I wish it wasn't because I like those things even having never seen a pair, but RF is a pretty well established, well documented build. There's not a lot of Funky New to discover with RF, unfortunately. This isn't one of those few things. She/Her

except for damage they don't provide anything. very mediocre, even for str stacking builds
