About spell block.

so we all read new changes.i couldnt get 1thing.as a mainly giadiator boi, i can still cap spell block and attack block right? ''The Gladiator passive skill now uses your attack block as your spell block.''
so i will have to pick one of spell block or attack block with taking versatile combanant or i can use %75 attack block+VC = %75 Spell block+ %75 attack block?

Gladiator still means that if you have 75% attack block you'll have 75% spell block too.
Have you done something awesome with Sire of Shards? PM me and tell me all about it!
How does it affect reckless defense?
It likely won't affect Reckless Defense at all. The manifesto post talks about changing things that apply a percentage of attack block to spell block. Reckless Defense doesn't do this.

It does. Reckless offers 20% of Block Chance applied to Spells. It should be converted to flat source of spell block.

We have no exact numbers but it will be nerf for high block builds.

What the Gladiator change means is that Gladiators with the node don't differentiate between Attack or Spell block anymore. They ignore the Spell Block statistic and use whatever their Attack Block value is instead, which turns that value into simply "Block Chance". if it's blockable at all, you've got the one single value that's used to determine whether you block it or not.

If you make a Gladiator with 30% Attack block and 75% Spell block because you're bad at PoE, then take Versatile Combatant, your Spell Block nodes vanish because the node states you use your Attack block value instead and you have 30% block chance. So don't do that.

In effect, you build the same way you always did with Gladiator - push Attack block and let that translate 100% to your spell block. Nothing changes build-wise, the game just lets other classes have spell block without being Gladiators now.

Which is gonna be pretty good tbh, it opens space for a lot more builds that were not possible previously

i think Rakiii is right, it will translate into less spell block for every non Gladiator build aiming for capped block.

i planned a build using 12% spell block rumi (after flask nodes bonus on the tree) + 85% block applied to spell to cap at 75% spell block.

to get the same block chances with this change, i'll need flat % spell block at 70+% of the old conversion block/spell block value. it would translate into a 42% flat spell block on a max rolled rapthpith for exemple, i really doubt they'll do that. i'm confident we will get values routhly equal to 1/2 of the old block/spell block convertion. so a 75% spell block build will turn into a 50% spell block build i'm afraid.

i hope i'm wrong, we'll see in a few hours.
