Bannable Technicalities

Ok, so I'm aware that obvious cheats like PoEHud are strictly not allowed for obvious reasons, I'm not disputing that, but I understand that GGG are stepping up there game in terms of detection mechanics etc

So my question is this:

Where does GGG stand in regards to more socially accepted things like PoETradeMacro? and Advanced Stash Helper? Are these still ok?

I understand Advanced Stash Helper is on a dedicated cheat site before someone mentions it, but I'm not certain it does much that would breach GGG t&c

Allow me to be clear: Advanced Stash Helper was NEVER okay.

You cannot possibly have believed otherwise. It literally automates gameplay. The first two google search results are dedicated cheating sites. Don't act like this is in any way ambiguous.

Okay, so you don't like Advanced Stash Helper, which I'm now a little more confused on after reading your (really helpful) guide about what a macro can and cant do. I thought it just pulled out 1 of everything for a Chaos recipe? which i guess is the more than 1 action deal :/ but I'm asking broader, things such as PoE Helper I've also seen mentioned before. I only ask as some aspects of stash management can get so tiresome that i want to be sure where the line is

Are you basically saying that if its featured on a website that also features i.e Advanced Stash Helper that you should assume no go? Is there websites that feature more green lighted helpers?
It literally automates a process in the game, you use it to search for the chaos recipe it scans the tab and then picks the items and puts them into the inventory.

It's a basic bot and as such bannable, without any question with zero confusion about it.

It also literally comes from a site dedicated to hacks, bots cheats and RMT if that isn't clue enough for you........

just look what these tools do and how they interact with the game.

the game client has 2 ways of giving information to outside programs, the logfile and the windows clipboard.

and there is the possibility of tools accessing your stash by requesting the server directly, authenticating with a token you have to generate on this website.

tools that only do that are generally ok. tools that do more than that are bannable.

---

when it comes to external tools influencing the game client there is only one way, they send keytrokes to the client (alt or ctrl don't count as separate ones).

the basic rule is, keystrokes that result in one action (usually sent to the server) are allowed, everything else is bannable.

if you press a button to activate a script, it must only respond with one keystroke as a response.

logout scripts are allowed if you activate them yourself by pressing a key. they usually only send alt+f4 to the game client (which is one keycode sent to the server) or send a FIN tcp packet to the server directly without the client getting involved. to the client it looks like the server closed the connection.

thanks very much cronus, some of that i got from sarno's guide earlier, but that helps me alot, and was kinda what i was after :)
To add to this is Poe Trade Helper ok? Was gonna consider to start using it but figured id avoid the trouble given how much money i've put into my account xD
