Why does Cast on Melee Kill have a cooldown?

No ding dong. I'm saying you could hit vaal portal to generate dozens of mobs to kill. This would allow you to trigger spells so fast you could kill anything in a tenth of a second.

Right I got you now. Well I mean this can still sort of be abused anyway with herald of ice. And as I sort of said earlier, how is this any different to using mines or traps? They can spam 20-30 spells per second without too much trouble, and don't even need to kill the mob first. As a good example, my arc trapper has a throw speed of .18 with full frenzy + onslaught, and throws 5 traps per throw. And the traps heal and Regen me at a rate where i can stand in 1 spot for boss fights up to t15 and just spam.
Watch Wormblaster the third and you will know both why Comk has a cooldown AND what REAL herald of ice abuse looks like. The wormblaster build series is responsible for basically all the nerfs to flask charge generation, writhing jar and Comk. They were THAT ridiculous.

As for why it's different from traps? Each trap only casts a single skill. Comk is different... it can cast multiple spells per trigger. Especially with some spells with performance heavy visuals, it can get out of hand.
Also, what you're doing with traps is within the expected range of game mechanics. Comk wasn't in some cases. Actually, none of the wormblaster builds were. Except the newest, thermonuclear ones.

I still feel like there would be a better workaround than the cooldown. Like making it .1 second instead of the .25 (i think) it is now. Or removing the cooldown but limiting it to 1 skill per kill/in general.
