How to start getting rich? Help from veterans please.
Hello. To begin I am in no way asking for "get rich quick scheme". I know time and patience. Also I am on Xbox, however I'm sure the same strategies works, just different amounts of currency. Now, with that outta the way. How does a new player start an empire? I've been playing about 2 weeks, level 64 act 8. So far my best way has been finding chaos orbs. I probably find one every three hours of gameplay. Luckily enough, the build I decided to use for my first character has been relatively cheap and got lucky on a few buys. Or I've been trading alteration/chance orbs, 20-1. I got a premium tab, however haven't sold a single unique ive found. Started selling em at 1 chaos, slowly out em down to 4 jewelers orbs and still nothing. I'm also keeping an eye out for 5L and 6L. So far this has been my only strategy. I'm just now finding 60+ item level, which I'm saving the rares for the chaos recipe. Is their another way of making currency I'm missing. I have most of my items however, the rest are 20-40 chaos each, or 5 chaos for even decent rares that go where I need only to be replaced later. Any ways, any and all suggestions are welcome. I would really appreciate the help. Being new and all I don't know much lmao.

two ways are possible,
without proper knowledge and build experience, you can only flip currency. the concept here is simple, just go "YT -> poe flipping" the (IMO) better option (because your gains are not so heavily depending on the market), can only be captured in one word: learning. and that basically boils down to playing and using sites like the poe wiki and poeaffix.net whenever theres anything you dont know yet. builds get cheaper when you know exactly what you need to make it work. you can make things work if get the mechanical concepts and their combinations. meaning: you play; you fail; you wiki; you learn; you fail less. after a while you know some builds, when you know some builds, you know some concepts. when you know some concepts, you know which items fit these concepts. congrats, you can start trading now! at this point you buy less items which need to be replaced again and save money. you know which items are good for certain builds, you sell and make money. so far for first steps from my side. also, if you like pm me, i will add you ingame and see if i can help out with basics :) E: just remember you said xbox, so i cant add you ingame (<- forgot basics lel) Unknown rule type: SetFondSize Last edited by MarboroMan#2479 on Jul 16, 2018, 9:17:04 PM

if you just Alch+go low level maps WITHOUT any IIQ gear, you average 2-2.5 chaos / map.
add Sadima's+ shitty Ventor's and you go 3-3.5 chaos / map. run 500 maps, convert your currency and enjoy your pile of chaos. there is no point selling common uniques, just vendor them and sustain your Alchs. d:-D*

on xbox it'll be a lot harder and take a lot longer, as trading would be a pain, and the load times on xbox are insane compared to an SSD computer, lol
anyway just keep playing the game. chaos recipe is your friend. knowledge is what makes you rich in this game. knowing how to do things and what not to miss out on |

I kinda figured it would take longer on Xbox. For my life situation it doesn't affect it much, I got wife and kids so I only get about 2 hours a night and just sell stuff while I'm off.
And actually on my Xbox S. Poe probably has one of the fastest load times I've had. Last edited by Magnesium360#1495 on Jul 18, 2018, 1:27:27 AM

Make lab runner, the best option for poor and beginners. When you finally get to maps and discover, there is such thing like "uber lab", go to forum, create some highly tanky and fast lab runner (juggernaut, slayer), then obtain some decent helmet and... run, Forest, run, enchant your helmet, grab loot from chests, check on poe.ninja whether your enchant is worth something or not, trade, be rich. Then do some MF windripper turboranger, farm burial chambers, volcano, spider forest untill you will be very rich. Then do whatever you want :)

Lab runner as mentioned is pretty legit, sustainable and easy. if you luck out with any of the more desirable enchants you make bank very quickly, even if you don't the chests have a whole shitload of currency in them of a variety of types.
Alternatively make a character that can ruin anymod T15/16's and just farm guardian maps to sell, this is what I go for usually though I potato'd this league by ripping to triple damage piety in shrine. |

This League I played 2 completely different ways... First, I pushed to the endgame and was able to kill uber elder ( 3 stat watchers eye can drop ) ... so either sell the unident ones for quite a bit or gamble... I like to gamble and hit the "jackpot" 15% pen and 60% light dmg wrath mods with es on hit disc.... sold for 80 ex My secood is chain Burial Chamber maps ( need around 3 min per maps) doing chaos recipe + loot or half decent currency... this way I can make per day 3-10 ex depends how long I play and that wihtout a single lucky drop just random currency drops from chisel to vaal ( no divine / ex or doctors included ) /E: side node ~500 Burial chambers in not a single doctor... Next league i will go for something else i prefer slow but steady income over RNG those are the items which you should aim for :) gl and simply play alot if i understand mapwatch right i did 500 burial and 1200 other maps in the current league ... 30 Shores with Double Pack / Breach / Max Sextants https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2006424/page/1 First Selfmade Build as Sparker ( MF ) https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1637690 1 Million Tool Tip Dps Sparker https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1761162 Last edited by KillerKrug#1803 on Jul 18, 2018, 5:15:06 PM
