Rain of Arrows and pierce

A simple question: Can rain of arrows take advantage of pierce, such if i grab pierce nodes on the tree, the attacks will be considered piercing? According to the wiki the pierce gem itself does not work because of the tags. That is fine, since if mechanically other sources work i can bypass it.

Yup. If you get pierce from somewhere besides the gem, it will apply to RoA.
thanks for the info

How does Rain of Arrow need pierce? Does it just land on the targets?

I does not need pierce, some bonus effect need pierce. For example 100% crit on deadeye, drillneck 50% damage and such.

For example additional arrow will inc AoE but LMP/GMP can't support skill as its missing the tag on active skill gem. Things like pierce, additional arrow, chain still can grant bonuses as 10% more damage per remaining chain and such.
