[3.3] BloodMagic Saboteur Elemental Hit Trapper GUIDE [UBER ELDER DOWN] [kill T16 bosses in Seconds]
07/09/18: Decide to make it a guide after Uber Elder kill (2 kills out of 2tries up to now)
07/10/18: add videos of effortless Elder's Guardians and Phoenix kills
Guardians of the Elder Tier 16:
Minataur fullrun deathless:
Hydra boss kill, zero damage taken:
Phoenix fullrun deathless:
Phoenix effortless kill:
1 second Sunken City Tier 15 boss kill:
Defence mechanism of this build is completely based on "Just another Arc Trap Build" by Sequel. I also did my 1st ever kill of Uber on my very 1st attempt with that build, so try it out to see if you like it!
After getting my Uber Elder kill as an Arc trapper, I tend to quit but then find EH trap is interesting, but after browsing the forum and see some Elemental Hit Trap builds with very fancy damage numbers, but with 5k life and 700 mana for MoM. I thought "WTF with 700 mana for MoM?". Then come up with a Blood Magic variation. Fun thing is that even when not going the "wich route" as most EH trap builds, it still yield same or higher dps. So I stick to the PoB I theorycrafted and get the Uber Elder kill anyway.
Single target setup (in Frostferno unique helmet):
Elemental Hit - Trap Support - Cluster Trap support - Elemental Damage with Attacks support OR Trap and Mine Damage support
Pack clear setup (in Chin Sol unique bow):
Elemental Hit - Trap Support - Cluster Trap support - Elemental Damage with Attacks support OR Trap and Mine damage support - Greater Multiple Projectiles support
Bloodrage setup (important to place the gems in exact order as listed):
CWDT (level1) -> Bloodrage (level1) -> Immortal Call (level1) AND (blink arrow or flame dash or lightning warp, your choice, this gem can be put anywhere in the link)
Utility setup (can be anything, don't need to use what I use)
Phase Run - Bear Trap - Increased Duration - Faster Casting
When no mobs are around or in dangerous situations: use Phaserun or quicksilver flask for faster run speed
Pop a Quartz flask whenever you encounter packs for safety
Throw trap INTO the pack, then after 0.5s or so the pack will start to attack, move anywhere that is not in a straight line immediately, don't try to make a 2nd throw (because they will fire projectiles at where they 1st see you after a 0.5 or 1s delay). Watch them burn :)
For bosses, throw the trap among him or in the kiting path (watch my Phoenix video)
If can't, then don't throw trap, move away from danger is top priority. For safe play, 1 throw and move in boss fight is enough to slowly take him down (though I must admit it is not slow, dps is very good, it ends fast!)
F.A.Q, don't start asking if you fail to read this FIRST:
- Why BloodMagic?
I was tired of pressing mana flask once in a while, so I go with BM. It also takes avanatage of the massive regen of Sab. To sum it up, I hate blue :)
- Why Explosives Expert instead of Chain Reaction?
Elemental Hit traps only target whatever triggers it, so those triggered by C.R will only fire at random directions, which is a waste of dps
- Why x2 of Hair Trigger jewels?
For more AoE trigger radius because we don't use C.R, try to pick ones with 55% more trigger radius or more
-Why use Fire roll of Elemental hit?
It has higher damage roll out of 3 elements. Enough said
-Do I need 6L Chin Sol? It's expensive
No, it's for pack clear. You are fine with only 1 skill in helm for pack clear
-So put another EH trap in glove trap for pack clear is okay?
I tried, but in my experience, it does not feel good (my gems were not at max level at Uber Elder kill, so I can't tell, try it yourself)
-The trap gloves are needed for Tier 16 maps and up?
No, look what I do in my Phoenix kill, I throw trap during his delay attacks, that much time is enough to throw 23 traps without a trap gloves. But it's good to have
-The unique helmet is mandatory?
No, but it's cheaper than the 6L bow, and has higher dps. FIY
-Why Phase Acrobatics?
Acrobatics + Phase Acrobatics are 2 strongest defense nodes in the game. With Blood Magic and a Kaom's Heart, it gives you even higher chance of handling nasty moment.
-Why Resolute Technique?
High and consistent dps for CHEAP (GL finding cheap rings/amulet with good Crit/CritMulti/EleDmg rolls)
-Why Avatar of Fire?
To convert everything to fire. Enough said.
FIND AS MUCH LIFE ON GEARS AS YOU CAN!
Chin Sol, for 100% more damage at close range, Range in this case is the distance from the trap to the boss
Ele damage to attacks
Frostferno unique helmet is the cheapest option. If you decide to use only 1setup of EH trap in bow, then pick any helmet with good life roll (prefer 90+ to max life)
Kaom's Heart, no need corrupted one. BIS so no 2nd thought here
+1 trap per throw is good to have, but not require. If you use a pair of rare gloves, look for good life roll and resistances
+30 Movement speed is important
Additional chance to dodge spell hits is very good, but not required
Other stats to look for: 80+ life and resistances
Life + Resistances. As much as you can
Yoke of Suffering unique amulet (cheap) or Xoph's Blood (super expensive)
A rare amulet with life + res + Elemental damage
From most important to least:
+Flat fire damage or Ele Damage with attacks
You are totally fine with 2 Coral rings with only life+res. Damage will be enough
Call of The Brotherhood and Pyre unique rings are bad picks, because you want life, life, and life
x1 Combat Focus with Elemental Hit can not roll Lightning
x1 Combat Focus with Elemental Hit can not roll Cold
x2 Hair Trigger with 55% or more trap trigger radius, the damage roll is not needed
chance to freeze/shock/ignite OR deal increased damage, NOT attack speed enchant
For offence: elemental penetration if not kill recently
For defence: spell dodge or life/mana regen
Pick anything 1st or later is not important, but for leveling, pick 2 jewels nodes for Hair Trigger to help with clear speed
Born in the Shadows - Pyromaniac - Perfect Crime - Explosives Expert
Arakaali (upgrade Arachnoxia, the last two are optional
Ryslatha (upgrade Gorulis)
Arakaali with Arachnoxia upgrade will give you 50% increased to life recovery (with condition, keep reading). It will make your life recovery twice as fast, which is one of the key feature to survive in a dodge/evasion build. But in order to make it work. You will have to use this gem setup, in exact order:
CWDT(level 1) - Blood Rage (level 1) - Immortal Call (level1)
What it does is that it will cast Blood Rage FIRST to make you take physical damage over time, then it will cast Immortal Call to make you immune to damage over time for a short duration. And this mechanic will trigger the bonus from upgrading Arachnoxia
Ryslatha with Gorulis upgrade:
Make your flask life more useful when on low life. In other word, it helps in nastly situation :)
