You could craft lightning damage to spells on your wand and slot Blade Vortex. BV will have 100% uptime and anything it hits will proc EE. This will help a lot with legion encounters because you won't need to stop to cast Storm Brand to tag monsters with EE.

Hm, blade vortex have a 2 stages in this scenario, and its very close range.
I'm trying a version with Summon Phantasm linked to Spectre as sixth link with some minor change in the original build.

According to PoB in a near optimal setup Solar Guard supported by 2 Curse on hit (Proj Weakness and Flammability) and 2 Auras (Zealotry and Haste) do 1.32 mln dmg each one, so 5.3 mln as a pack of 4 Solars.

If i change the sixth link of Spectre's gems with Summon Phantasm,and switch Conc.Effect to Inc.Critical because Conc.Eff don't give damage to Phantasm, and change Haste with Hatred. I have 4 solar guard that make "only" 775k dmg, that means 3.1 mln as pack of four, and 10 Phantasm that make 360k dmg each one, so 3.6 mln as group of ten. The output is 6.7 mln against the 5.3 mln of standard version. And 14 minions that deliver damage with 5 projectile each one is a lot better than 4 minions, the map cleaning must be a little faster i think.

Some suggestion? Correction? This version looks affondable?

It definitely works, but you might experience lag/stutter when using phantasms that can proc ailments (in this case freeze). A lot of people had this kind of problem last league with phantasms, so I've taken them out of the basic build.

Hi, I play on ps4 and commander of darkness ascendancy does not seem to add any elemental resistance to my character. I have zealotry and hatred active. Does anyone else encounter this issue? Thnx for any replies.
I've been bouncing ideas with @meltedopen, and have updated the Frost Sentinel set up. As always, feel free to experiment and change gems to your own liking.

Frost Sentinels
The best mapper/delver because of freeze/shatter.
Even though DPS looks low in PoB, they actually feel really good to play because of the freeze/shatter/pierce.
Fair bosser but ice spear spell can block vision.
Best with spiders to help with single target DPS.

Advantages:
Longer range projectiles than SGs
Shoots multiple projectiles (don't need GMP/LMP)
Can freeze/shatter (75%+)
Only has one spell (doesn't switch between spells like SGs)

Disadvantages:
Low DPS
Ice spear projectile is extremely bright
Ice spear projectile can block vision

Bonus:
Pairs extremely well with Spiders (Spiders benefit from Hatred aura)

hi there

first i want to say thank you for the guide. i have a couple of very newbie questions as i havent played a summoner since the days before ascendency.

i see we use elemental equilibrum and i see we proc it with added fire damage linked with zombie/golem or the ghastly abyss jewel with minions do fire damage.
so stupid question, but if i decided to use the frost sentinels, i would switch out added fire damage to added cold and/or ghastly jewel with cold damage correct?

im still only lvl 37 using this guide but i feel we are moving along very slowly. im using fire eater cannibals, 7 zombies, and the stone golem. the specters even die occasionally slowly me down even more. am i missing something or do summoners just start out weak/slowly?

A Few Thoughts:

1. For mapping, I like Frost Sentinels more than Solar Guards because of freeze/shatter. Everything is perma frozen/slowed; very nice against some of the rippy Legion mobs.

2. Frost Sentinel's ice spears are pretty bright. It can be annoying and it may block vision.

3. Freeze/shatter + your screen covered by bright projectiles may cause you to lag/stutter, especially if you are using an older PC.

4. Magritte's gem-setup in the 'advanced/alternate builds section' works perfectly fine. My personal favorite is: Raise Spectre, Minion Damage, Greater Multiple Projectiles, Pierce, Increased Critical Damage, Increased Critical Strike.

- Increased Critical Strike Support doesn't add as much DPS as other gems but, it raises my frost sentinel's crit chance to 85% - basically perma freezing everything.

- Pierce is too strong not to use IMO. I prefer GMP because it covers more area, making legion encounters a breeze (especially in outdoor maps).

5. I've really enjoyed playing with Spiders (Arakali's Fang) but, they can be annoying to summon/re-summon. Summon Phantasm is a solid alternative.

6. Probably going to switch back to Solar Guards vs Uber Elder. It'll be tough dodging Elder ice spear when my own ice spears cover the whole screen.

Added mods to my Shield to account for Zealotry Watcher's eye and AG Kingmaker. Adjusted minion damage on my gloves to take my 3x Slum Lord Timeless Jewel into account.

I've tailored my build to be pretty defensive (yet still easily clearing T16 Legion/end game bosses).

I already do enough damage so I use Enfeeble as my curse for more survivability.

I feel fine dropping my Quicksilver flask for another defensive flask because of Vaal Haste (not linked with Generosity). Frenzy charges as well as Spiritual Command adds even more attack speed, allowing me to shield charge zoom all around the map.

Currently using three 50% auras (Hatred, Haste, Zealotry) as well as other nice offense & defensive auras: Aspect of the Spider, Dread Banner, Purity of Elements (paired with my Watchers Eye).

CWDT-Steelskin, Acro/Phase Acro, Mind Over Matter + Eldritch Battery, Fortify, +2 minimum endurance charges further add to my defenses.

'Minions have % chance to blind' ghastly eye jewels is just the icing on the cake as my spiders (with their hyper aggressive AI) blind everything in my vicinity.

255k Shaper/Guardian dps per spider (20 spiders total)... Even more dps when you take Impale into account (don't think PoB can calculate it yet but, I believe its 50% more dmg)

779k Shaper/Guardian dps per frost sentinel with a gem swap (Raise Spectre, Minion Damage, Increased Critical Damage, Hypothermia, Spell Echo, Power Charge on Crit).

487k dps per frost sentinel with my mapping setup.

Vaal Haste + Shock adds even more dps on top of everything.
