Locus of Corruption - "equal chance" my butt

I'm down four items in a row on using the t3 corruption altar, all four just vanished on click.
Just left click on the icon on the altar, left click on the item in my inventory, and poof. Gone.

Is there some kind of bug or function I should be aware of, or is RNG just trolling me??

also be aware that the previous outcomes have NO BEARING on the next outcome. Oh you bricked 4,786 items in a row? the odds of your next corruption being a brick == 25%

I was just checking in to see if there's something else at work here. I spent weeks in the last league trying to get the Uber Elder to spawn but couldn't get all four Guardians under influence... until someone told me that Elder influence has a 20-map maximum. PoE isn't known for having all the information you need accessible in-game, which is why it's nice to have access to such an informed community. ;)
