scaling solar guards (help pls <3)

Hey,

I'm playing solar guard spectres with MF-Gear

Unfortunately, I'm recently struggling a bit with dealing enough damage. I felt I was fine a few days ago, now it is somehow... worse? Not sure if I actually messed something up or it's just my imagination, but either way, I was wondering if there is something extremely obvious I'm missing regarding dealing more damage. Pretty sure I have lvl84 specters.

Ideally I dont want to sacrifice too much speed or MF-Gear (yeah I know a fourth spectre would solve my problem, but I love my Goldwyrms too much for that!).

Anger, I assume, doesn't do anything? I'm currently using Haste and, because I have extra mana a Purity of Elements for some phys reduction from my Watchers Eye.

I could swap out the GMP for slower projectiles for bosses? Unfortunately the most problematic thing is killing the architets in T16 incursions quickly enough and swapping skill gems in the middle of incursions isnt really practical.

My guardian is carrying a Leer Cast and a Dying Breath for Damage and then Victaro's Flight, Southbound and Ambu's Charge. Is there something much better?

Is there a way to give my spectres penetration? Is the helmet enchant that gives spectres increased cast speed just better? Do I need to use a curse instead of culling strike/rarity support?

If anyone has any ideas, I'd be really grateful :) I'd be more than willing to express that gratitude with some maps or currency :P

Is there a way to give my spectres penetration?

This is probably the core to your problem.

First, I'd replace the Elemental Focus gem with Combustion.

Elemental Focus is giving your specters 49% more damage.
A lv20 COmbution gem will give your specters 29% more damage and 19 fire penetration (once they ignite, but with several specters casting with spell echo and 49% chance to ignite from the gem, you'll ignite things very quickly, even on elemental ailment evasion maps)

29% more damage * 19% more damage from driving resists to negative = 53% more damage, which is more then Elemental FOcus is giving. And that's assuming you're hitting a target with no elemental resistance, if you are attacking anything that actually has resistance, it will be much much higher.

After that, I'd consider replacing your Controlled Destrution with a Fire Penetration gem. Against a zero resist target, it will provide 37% more damage which is a bit less then the 44% you are getting from your controlled destruction, but again, as soon as you fight anything with resistances, it becomes much much stronger in effect.

You do fire dmg with ball lightning from a jew.

Your other jews need fixing also, get some dmg to minions.

Use Atleast one curse, flammability's good.

Use a real weapon, 95% minion dmg sceptre or scourge. Or both dualwield.

Rampage helps alot.

"free" cullin strike with king maker on animated guardian.

(if you look at mine I test alot of stuff so dont blindly copy stuff = ) , I run RF now n then on it and what not)

Counting all the azzholes in the room..... iam definitely not alone

oh lol, guess that explains that xD Thanks, no idea how that happened :)

Kinda hesitant to use a weapon with less attack speed, feels like it would hurt my movespeed pretty badly. I guess I'll try it on weapon swap for now :)

Flat damage doesn't really do anything with spectres though, does it? Because their base damage is so high? So I should use normal Jewels with 16% increased minion damage? I'd lose some life, which is fine, but also the taunt/blind on hit feels really good. Am I overestimating how good it is?

Thanks to both of you =) anything I can give you as a little thank you gift?
holy mother of cows o_o

I can kill shaper guardians without taking the day off just for the boss fight! thank you, thank you, thank you! ;_;

Friendship with Brightbeak and Item Rarity support has ended!
