Regarding Blade vortex on Totems

I tried playing Blade vortex on totems but I noticed that the "increased hit rate" and "more damage" per blade thing doesnt seem to work at all on totems, making it completly unviable, is this intended?

Totems use your own skills affected by your own stats. Thus giving a totem "increased hit rate" and "more damage" through the totem having stacks of BV will not do anything, as the skill-specific stats of the totem are ignored.

On the other hand, if you have 10 stacks of BV, and a totem casts it, it will benefit from your hit rate and damage multipliers regardless of how many stacks the totem has. This could be useful.
If it does work like that it is "way too good" for boss killing...

Would also like to know if
a) it really works like that
b) if it is intended/bug or not ~= if it will be changed or not
No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle!
If it works like that, it is working as intended. This is a straightforward application of proxy rules.

If it does not work like that, it is either a bug, or a special case of Blade Vortex behaving differently from usual.

I'm going to do some testing...

Actually this was easier to test than I thought.

Setup:

Level 1 Blade Vortex + Level 12 Spell Totem Support (A)
Level 20 Blade Vortex + Level 20 Increased Duration Support (B)

+ a bunch of random duration modifiers to make this easier to test.

Using (A) deals noticeably and substantially more damage to monsters when the player character has 10 stacks of (B), compared to the player having no stacks. The tooltips of both (A) and (B) also update in real time as the player character gains stacks of (B). The totem casting (A) does not cause any change in the tooltip of either skill.

Thank you very much for testing this.

This being as intended instead of being a bug is very disheartening to be honest.
Having 10 stacks up on yourself to boost ur totems seems like an unncesessarily bothersome task, even if you use some cwdt lvl 1 BV shenannigans or someting like that, it still makes playing BV totems much more of a chore than just playing any other totems.
While it may currently work this way, I give it about a 3% chance it will get patched out in the future, simply because it seems a tad exploitable.

Run a Faster Casting/Spell Echo/Increased Duration Blade Vortex on self-cast, and a BV/Spell Totem/4 damage supports linkup elsewehere, and suddenly you can drop 3-5 10L full-stack BVs at will. That sounds just a little bit borked to me.

Somebody made a build - didnt watch video nor read in detail but principle is probably to use some sort of autocast for getting BV stacks on player and using totems for single target.
