GPU fan is howling in Mud Geyser Map and Fetid Pool

Every time I play the Mud Geyser Map my GPU fan is howling and the FPS goes down to 30 (from constant 60 [vsync]).

Same happens in the Fetid pool, so it seems to be the texture that is causing the performance issue.

I use "DirectX 9Ex" with Windows 7 and an AMD graphic card (Radeon R7 260X).

Edit: This seems to be since patch 3.3.

Check your temps, while those areas may be indeed taxing on gpu, properly maintained pc should never overheat. If you do, you probably need to thoroughly clean pc insides, you may need to change thermal paste if it's old.(older than 1-2 years, sometimes new pcs just have it badly placed too)

If it's not overheating, try to disable vsync, and instead locking framerate to 60fps with some software, there are many out there, I use RivaTunerStatisticsServer.
This is not a problem with my computer hardware.

I checked this [with GPU-Z]: in normal play my GPU temperature is not overheating (45-60° C) and the fan is running with ~20 %.
Only in this special maps (in the near of some special textures) the fan begins to run faster.
But when I switch back to the desktop [Alt-Tab], wait some seconds until the fan is running normal and then switch back to POE the fan remains quiet!

I think something with the resource management in POE is not OK.
Sorry bud but the game is fine, if your fans are going full blast then it's because there is something wrong with your hardware (dust build up) or the settings you use for the game.

If you say so.

This game is far from fine when it comes to performance.
My computer is clean (no dust) - I checked that.

And my graphic settings are low-mid:

Btw: I'm [games] software developer and I've co-developed some other AAA games (for a german games company in the past).

I also get huge FPS drops in Mud Geyser Map, fine in most other maps.

Same as OP, my graphics card fan is louder when I play Mud Geyser.

I try to skip Mud Geyser and 3-for-1 upgrade it, but that's not always an option, especially when trying to expand Elder influence.

Hope it gets looked at.
Good to know that I'm not the only one ;-)

Originally I've posted this thread in the "bug reports", but a staff member has moved it to this section.

I also hope that one GGG developer looks at this (and see it as performance bug)!

Edit: Same happens in the "Mineral Pool Map" when near the background (stone spikes) at the edges of the map.

I can give more infos if needed.

I've also this issue when going back to the character selection screen.
Not immediately, but after 1 - 2 minutes the fans start to running faster and getting louder. After switching to desktop and back to POE, waiting again some minutes and then the fans are howling again...

Unfortunately I can't activate the FPS info (with "F1") in this screen.
