So many lvl 1 Vaal gems...

I'm a bit confused. The game gives us a huge amount of vaal gems this season for obvious reasons but I don't know what to do of them. I mean what can be a level 1 vaal gem for? If you had a level 20 vaal gem sure, I'd play it but level 1, who cares it's unplayable.

If someone has the answer. Just curious.

the game also gives me tons of white and magic items and other junk, am I supposed to create threads about them?

actually these lvl 1 gems are pretty useful when making new characters. lvl 20 would not be that great for this purpose right?

also you can turn them to vaal orbs but I doubt its worth it considering the price of them compared to sac fragments

so, feel free to leave them on the ground

Vaal gems gain experience and level up. I can confirm this, since I have changed almost every Discipline, Immortal Call, Haste and others, that I am using on my old characters.

Vendor 7 vaal gems with 1 random fragment of sacrifice = Vaal orb

Vaal gems now allow you use the non-vaal version of the same skill as well. The vaal and non-vaal version of the skill can share the same support gem links. Two skills in one gem.

Even if you don't need them, you can use them for vaal orb vendor recipe.

Why not just level them up? I'm confused why you think this is odd.
