HELP! I DON"T UNDERSTAND THIS! (purity aura stacks)

ok, I have my aura bot he's running all 3 Purity's of Fire, Ice and Lit. With all 3 of them running my TOTAL RESISTS aka the part that's in (XXX%) after the actual resists list as 142%, 221%, 214% respectively. The purity of elements gem is lvl 19 and on its own (before modified by my skills) says it raises resists by 27%. So why the heck when I activate the aura does it only raise the TOTAL RESISTS to 154%, 233%, 226%? thats 12% across the board, which is less then HALF of what the unmodified gem says it gives! PoE wiki as far as I can tell gives no help. I've tried deactiviating a specific purity wondering if there was some unknown cap I was reaching, but nada, still only 12%. Moved the Gem around, still 12%, made sure it was unlinked too. 12% IS the base amount of resist for a lvl 1 gem, but why is a lvl 19 gem only giving the resists of a lvl 1? This ofcourse isn't even taking into consiteration all the "increased aura effect nodes I have".

a) Could you go into your forum settings and unhide your characters? That way we can see your gear and see what's going on.
b) Do you have more than one Purity of Fire gem? Are you sure you are activating the right one? A level 19 PoF should give you 40% fire resists without any other modifiers, not 27%; even a level 1 skill should grant 22%. Something odd is going on here. Most reasonable explanation of your situation is you have two different Purity of Elements skills (most likely, skill gems), one of them level 19, one of them level 1, and you are activating the level 1 one. Did you try removing the Level 19 Purity of Elements gem, placing it in your inventory, and seeing if you can still cast Purity of Elements? If so, you probably have a level 1 Purity of Elements hiding somewhere in your gear. If this is the case, you simply need to choose the correct icon when setting your skill.
If that doesn't fix your problem, you can unhide your characters as Abdiel says by clicking your account name in the upper left part of any forum screen, clicking Privacy Settings on the right, unchecking Hide Characters Tab, and then clicking Update. You would of course have to do this with the account the characters are on and not your "dummy account" for us to be able to see what's going on. Need game info? This is NOT ABOUT purity of FIRE, its about PURITY OF ELEMENTS. PURITY OF ELEMENTS my lvl 19 gem is only giving +12% to my TOTAL RESISTS. it should be giving at LEAST 27%, and that whats on the GEM, not counting all the +to aura effects that should be taking hold. and no i do NOT have 2 purity of elements equiped. ok i think i fixed the hidden part, sorry, didn't think i had it turned off. I have imported your char in PoB, and I don't see anything wrong. However, the numbers you gave don't seem to match. With all auras running, you should have 154% fire resists, as you observed. But with PoE off (everything else on), you should only have 107% fire resists, not 142%. Are you sure the numbers you gave are correct?
Or, possibly, were you affected by a lower level Purity of Elements from another character when you looked at the "without" number? Or some other effect modifying your resistances? you nailed it, man i feel stupid now. i was on my other account in the same hide out and grouped with the character and they were running purity of elements as well. *hides* *feels sheepish* thank you.
