Tencent shares: Finally someone's signature got it wrong so I have to nitpick it.

" Because someone's signature said 80% of your supporter pack money goes directly to Tencent. FALSE.theoffice.jpg, it's some unknown amount less than that. My nitpicking urges get hot and bothered pretty easily. As for actual meaning behind my post - some people may not realise that GGG employees are still going to get paid, and most likely paid just as well as before, which, if anything about GGG's reputation holds any weight, is plenty. Meaning a significant amount of your GGG-pack purchases do still go towards GGG employee paychecks( and server infrastructure and other such expenses before Tencent gets a cut). But as I've already sort of tried to say, that meaning is relatively small. 80% share ownership is more about control than share of net profits. Need game info? " It's both, share of the profit and control about how that profit is made; plus the power to change everything/everyone if you want to - usually when said profit is not as good as you want/hoped. Any deal/contract GGG has made doesn't change this - and would likely be ruled in China, so... " Are you certain about that? Is there only one way that companies can be structured and share ownership can be applied? For example, can you perhaps have a company structure where one entity has an 80% financial stake and the other entities have 20% financial stakes in total, but the company structure is agreed that the 80% financial stake is entitled to 2 voting director positions and the 20% has three voting director positions? There is absolutely no reason a company couldn't be set up like that or with a myriad of other legal options to protect GGG's position. As I stated elsewhere, nobody but the entities involved know the details of the agreement but it's at least worthwhile to consider all the possible options before declaring that this was a bad deal. Good deals benefit all parties and they're far more common, though much less newsworthy, than deals that have gone bad. |

I personally don't like this, but that's a different thing...
