Uber Elder: How to avoid that Shaper takes back the Elder guardian maps??
Hey guys,
I was trying to spawn uber Elder again (beast league). I had Elder influence on Minotaur, Chimera and Hydra. But I noticed that next to Hydra, Shaper was sitting on sunken city (....and nowhere else near Hydra, except T17 shaper area of course). So I played that sunken city map (so Shaper influence disappears) and after I finished sunken city, Shaper had taken over T15 Reef AND the Hydra map. Now how can that be? What can we do to prevent shaper taking back the guardian maps??? When I played uber elder in standard, this wasn´t an issue for me. But since I play in Beastiary, this happened several times. It´s ANNYOING as T16 maps are RARE and VERY expensive. Map drop rates are fxxxxing horrible! (with 20% Q and sextants and zana mods!) So....where´s the secret? How to avoid this? thanks in advance guys. Last bumped on May 17, 2018, 4:28:17 AM

You should've do Phoenix instead of Sunken City. Simple as that.

" Last time I did that and shaper spread his influence to an elder influenced guardian map. |

" To me it seems like a bad luck, just continue to do T16 and you will get it. Otherwise you can even lost more T16 and get low-level Elder spawn apparently. By the way if you're playing on Bestiary you should have less problems with T16 maps, because you can get Harbinger's and Horizons' Orbs via beastcrafting and then upgrade T15s and reroll them if needed. Probably you're already doing it, but just in case. | |
Keep in mind after each map completion, the Shaper can always attack you from the T17, and i'm afraid there's nothing you can do to prevent that.
Now, i suggest you entirely ignore potential attacks from neighboring T15s, because each turn you use to control a T15 is one more opportunity for the Shaper to screw you from the center. That means the optimal way is to control the 4 T16s in a row, so be sure to have the 4 maps available before each attempt. Furthermore, the order in which you control the T16s matters. For example, if you first control Hydra, the best you can do is to do Minotaur last, cause your loss would be minimal in case of an attack on Phoenix or Chimera. Thanks guys for your replies.
I guess I might have really had bad luck then. I already do what you suggested and also already play the t16s in a clockwise, counterclockwise, cross over manner. But that you can never control the T17 is of course probably the big problem here. |

Glad we could help, at least to see things a bit differently.
Also, i forgot to mention, but the quantity of elder-influenced maps usually alters the agressiveness of the shaper. So when trying to control the 4 T16s, it's probably not a good idea to do it when you have too many influenced maps, don't hesitate to cut the thing a bit before doing so.
