Beastcrafting recipe not unlocked

I have all four required beasts, all with the right mods and level 80+, for a six-linked astral plate and the recipe doesn't show up (with or without hide unusable toggled). The first three I caught myself and the fourth (sea witch with winter bloom) I got from an orb. My understanding and previous experience was that it should already have been unlocked when I caught the first three, but also that the fourth should count even if it came from an orb.
