Using elder orb on already shaped map

If I use an elder orb on a map that I already shaped (haunted mansion), will the shaper orb be refunded for me to use on another map, or does it just disappear?

For science? Seriously though: I assume you get it back but having not tested it I don't know for sure. Worst case scenario you'll get a pretty solid reddit thread out if it all goes wrong..

I can confirm it won't let you. You have to unshape it first, and you will get the orb back. You just have to ask Zana for it.
