What's your opinion about stat sticks?
" Are you using culling strike with flame dash for the style points or it's just a placeholder? |

I don't know why would anyone ever play a 2H build anymore.
They offer no defense, you do less dps and you attack much slower, making it very hard to dodge some boss oneshots. There are really no benefits i can think of anymore. |

Stat sticks as it currently is simply too OP. It's akin to having multiple hatred auras that stack in 1 single item. Nerfing this item is the lesser evil compared to having to boost
- 2H - True Dual Wield that uses both weapons - Sword and Board Easier to just adjust one downwards. The powercreep from shaper / elder items is notable even without stat sticks. Last edited by DAKKONx#3689 on Apr 13, 2018, 12:35:09 PM

I've wasted alot of currency trying to craft one so there not that easy to come by.
Here's my best craft. |

" Sure this one's OK and i also love Kongor's with Ele Overload, but again, you lose block and the 70% extra elemental dmg stat sticks surpass everything a 2H can offer in dmg. Also you get a chance to use WB, a ranged melee skill and clear faster. Cyclone used to be good because of the single target spam crazy dps, after the initial nerf and the AoE nerf not so much... There is frost blades/sunder for mapping and molten strike/BF for bossing which massively outmatch cyclone. |

Non-ranged attackers and spellcasters outside of one trick pony GC builds were not really defining the meta anyways.
I see no issues with stat sticks. IGN: Arlianth

Stat sticks create a huge imbalance. To do anywhere near that kind of damage, you need to use stat sticks. Which means your options are narrowed down to skills that work with stat sticks.
I threw some low level, cheap uniques on a duelist. At level 16 with 2x princess sabers and the gloves that converts physical to extra cold damage, he does close to 2k dps. Without any optimization at all and without even trying to max out support gems with a tabula rasa. I can one hit almost anything at this stage of the game. A traditional self casting spellcaster with fireball or any act 1 spell cannot even come close to that kind of damage output. I tried playing a templar with lightning tendrils. Underwelming in comparison. End game, you have all these physical attack characters running around with 10 million+ DPS. Looking in the witch build forum, all the 3.2 builds self casting builds I see stack massive shock damage or ignite bonuses and still fall behind because there are no caster specific stat sticks. Why, pray tell, did they think it a good idea to make items that grant a massive amount of extra damage, but limit it to physical attacks? Imagine if they did it the other way around and made items that grant a massive amount of extra damage, but only for spells. How popular would classes like the ranger be then? http://poe.ninja/challenge/builds Look at the top skills used. Notice a pattern? http://poe.ninja/challenge/builds?skill=Frostbolt Less than 100 characters, almost all of which are Hierophants using totems. I dont think I need to link to reave or cyclone stats in comparison. Im going to throw this challenge out now. Can anyone show me how you get 1m+ dps vs shaper with a spell like freezing pulse? Totems and wormblaster style loopholes dont count (worms are going to get nerfed soon again anyway, thanks to the recent video). Not even going to ask for anything close to the 20m+ dps that you can achieve with stat sticks. The stats speak for themselves. Stat sticks create a massive gap between builds that can use them and builds that cant. They trivalize end game content...when you can instantly end a t15 map boss phase through SHEER DAMAGE before it can even touch you, boss fights are a joke. You dont even have to sacrifice anything to do that kind of damage, since any build utilizing stat sticks have plenty of life and other defences as well. |

It is one thing agreeing on statsticks being broken, but then comparingabout freezing pulse and ice spear to top tier melee crit skills is like comparing dominating blow and elemental hit to scorching ray.
Self cast freezing pulse was basically murdered with the shotgonnung changes, ice spear was always one of those "sound good, doesn't work" skills, it is just mechanically flawed. Altho FP has 125% damage effectiveness, so I guess if you stacked abyss jewels it could work, altho would be really far from comfortable and optimal unless you used it with totems, because it is a totem spell now. FP has 125% effectiveness because its damage drops off which it doesn't really go into in any detail, its usable as a skill and is far better than ice spear but fundamentally they both share the current problem with selfcast being extremely poor compared to any kind of trigger mechanism (for most spells)
